Just saw where Appalachian is recruiting a kid out of Florida that runs a 4.3 forty. His name is Hayden Jones from Orlando, Florida. With that speed he should have offers from every D-1A school in the country. There loss our gain!! FCS schools should eat this guy up! He is strong too. Hopefully, OD Monarchs will put in a bid!!

ummm...there's a difference between an offer, a LOI, and recruiting. There are lots of players in the FCS that can run a 4.3 Forty, it's just not as much of a staple as it is in the FBS.
This guy will probably go to an FBS (BCS) school if he has the chance, just the cruel reality of things

Just because ASU is recruiting him doesn't mean he'll be at ASU.

Just found some links for highlights on Hayden Jones:

I was going to say...can he catch but averaging over 21 yards a catch. He would look good in green and white!!

Did I mention he is white! Freak of nature!! Google him and see where he runs track too, best time 100 meters 10.8. 5'11" 180 lbs according to Scout. He benches 325 lbs according to Rivals (3 star). Definitely needs to go to Old Dominion.

FloridaTypeSpeed? Interesting...
Many high school/college players run a "4.3" supposedly. If he runs a true 4.3 and has size he'll have multiple FBS offers

I would suggest you start talking to boosters of ODU and App State right here in these open forums. Maybe they can get you to come to their schools. In fact, why stop with those two great schools and limit the possibilities? You should talk to JMU, Montana, Montana State, Eastern Washington, Northern Iowa, Villanova, Georgia Southern, North Dakota State, and even rising star Towson.
All of those schools have boosters that are always looking to "influence" a budding young star like yourself. You seem like a can't miss talent, sharp as a razor

Montana and speed are synonymous (as well as awesomeness, winning, better than NDSU, and loud). You should go there.

Money talks. BS walks. You're going to need more than pictures of a stadium to pull in this trophy catch.

I would respond to this, but since I'm technically a booster, that would be a violation of NCAA rules.

I wouldn't use the phrase great schools and NDSU. They are good when beating cupcakes. Plus only 1 home playoff game in 20 years...not that great to me!

We're going to wait till at least our second CAA season until we start our NCAA violations. Thanks for thinking of us though.

I know a school, that begins with "O", that would be interested in him. They can offer cars, cash, tattoos, electronics, or whatever it takes. They have a big following and one of the biggest home crowds in the land at their level of football. Currently, their roster is young, so he can get playing time right away. After football season, they have a pretty good basketball team that you can cheer for during the winter months. They are in a strong conference and have their games televised often.
If he signs a LOI, he can get all of this and more, and he can call himself a Buckeye.

I hope you realize that FBS schools also like to swoop in like vultures and steal kids who commit to FCS schools so if he does commit to App, he is going to be inundated with mail from FBS schools pretty much immediately

Ummmm i grew up in south florida....there are band members in high school that run that fast. Big deal, you still have to know how the game of football is played. People over play speed for everything. Jerry Rice ran like 4.9 and he is hands down the best WR to ever play the game...Just a little FYI, the 2011 Walter Payton award winner (Shakir Bell ) ran a 4.8 in his HS combine and that is the only reason we are not watching him scoot down the sidelines in the B10, Big 12, SEC, etc.......all i am saying is that Shakir Bell is awesome and it takes alot more than speed to be a good football player.

Ha ha ha that was my very first thought! I've never heard a single odu fan in my 2 decades of following the monarchs call us od monarchs lol.
It's almost as bad as when the morons who call our college basketball games on espn call us "old Dom" lol.
I'm pretty sure Hayden jones is trying to pimp himself out on this message board to either odu fans or app st. Fans.
Can't honestly say I blame him though, not a bad strategy to get yourself noticed. With that said though I have full faith in Bobby wilder to find us top notch players without resorting to message board rumors lol.
Good luck kid!

Awesome, Shakir Bell and some high school kid both pumping themselves on a message board. Care to make a wager on Bell winning the Payton? I guarantee he won't. Doubt he will even be a finalist.

Darrel, lay off already. Jbb went bye bye for a while, so there's no need for a post like this. If you want the bullshit to continue and have every thread ruined, by all means proceed.

Had a white boy on my HS team that ran a 4.25 on grass. Name is Buster Day. He had offers out the ying yang to go play and told them all the pack sand and went to work on his dads ranch. Now he owns the ranch. Saw him at homecoming last year and he hasn't changed much at all.
