    Worst Performance: Idaho St. 35, Portland St. 42 - Bengals give up 436 rushing yards and allow Cory McCaffrey & Connor Kavanaugh to each run for over 200.

    Most Surprising Result: Eastern Washington 27, Weber St. 21 - The defending champs finally get a win by registering 4 sacks and giving up just 3.6 yards-per-carry against Weber's talented, veteran O-Line.

    Most Surprising Result: Stephen F. Austin 28, Central Arkansas 38 - The did get a few scores late to make things less embarrassing, but here the disappointing Lumberjacks got crushed by a team they smothered last season.

* - I know UMass is still technically in the CAA this year, but I'm counting them as FBS and as a non-conference opponent for CAA teams.

If MVFC's best and worst results are from the same game, either 6 points is a bigger spread than I thought or Western really sucks, and Southern is freaking awesome. Head-scratching a bit.

When a ranked team loses to a team figured to be in the bottom tier of the conference, that fits. WIU gets a Best for beating a good team (at least they looked good before that loss) and SIU gets a Worst for losing to a weak team.

The other three MVFC losers all lost to playoff-caliber teams.

    Worst Performance: (#17) Southern Utah 20, North Dakota 26 - The T-Birds had 7 different players get at least 39 yards receiving, but could only manage 23 yards rushing as a team.

    Most Surprising Result: (#17) Southern Utah 20, North Dakota 26 - With crushing wins over Sac State & UNLV and losses to North Dakota & South Dakota State, it's impossible to figure whether the Thunderbirds are playoff-caliber or not.
