How much does App State charge for tickets?

Looking at the Indystar.com financial reports, it looks as if App only takes in $404,216 in ticket revenue.
http://www2.indystar.com/NCAA_financial ... hool_id=70" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Contrast that with Montana at $3,381,935 for almost the same attendance.

Is App selling them on Groupon? I realize it is much more than just those numbers, but that is a huge difference.

Does Appy still count people that sit on a hill, or do all these people actually have seats?

I think Appalachian State counts fans on the hill. It's probably why their attendance figure is above 100% capacity.

I was asking myself, why is the number low for the JMU game and realized it was an average. The game against Richmond was announced at 25,742.

Question: Is it possible to say that these top attendance teams in the FCS are profitable? I always hear that programs don't make profit in FCS but I think that if you get more than 15k in attedance you can balance out pretty well...

Stony Brook in the other hand its relatively improving its attendance levels. While the stadium capacity is only 8,000 the average attendance is 7002 which is far greater than any other previous year. Lets see how the year ends for SB

We charge $32 a ticket. Grass tickets cost the same as a seat... $32.

Those figures are outdated. It shows our revenue as only 7 million dollars. Our revenue is more than double that.

2009-2010 figures:
Ticket sales (all sports... but just about all football): $2,728,336.00
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... nances.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Compared with only $458,280 from your figures.

The numbers from your site are either really old or wrong.

Edit: looking at the historical numbers on the above USAtoday site... it looks like your info is from 2004-2005 school year. That was before any of the titles and Michigan. Our prices and attendance have gone way up since then.

While I doubt most of you care, and we've only had 2 home games (against a D2 and Nicholls), our avg is 15,651. Stadium capacity (for now) is 16,008. It doesn't compare to many of the top FCS teams but it is a 29% increase over last year. That's encouraging.

Sac State is averaging 12.7k this season.*

*We have had one home game through 5 weeks...and won't have another until week 8 so this average should hold out for another couple of weeks. :lol: :mrgreen:

Of the top 15 teams or so, is the Fargo dome the only inside stadium?

MSU's should actually be 17,947. The initial attendance for the game vs. Minot was incorrect by 3,000. That game should have been 16,507 and not 13,507.

Why is your stadiums capacity listed at 13000 on the NCAA spreadsheet? I thought it was 20,000

Apparently it hasn't been updated for the expansion we did this summer. Official capacity is now 17,877(?) or something like that - a little shy of 18k.

That's partially my point. There was a mistake in that game and I think it's all on the NCAA. The "official" capacity is 17,500 or something.

Georgia State must use the same creative mathematicians that the Obama administratioon uses is calculating the number of jobs "saved" or created.

Harvard's "average" will drop sharply when we have our second home game against Bucknell on the 15th. The 18K+ was a night game with Brown. We have one more night game this year -- Dartmouth -- that should attract as many or more, especially if we're still in the Ivy race by then. But no Yale game to pump the numbers.

If they are allowed to do that, we should be able to count the 100-200 people who watch the ODU games from the parking garage, thus putting us over the 20K mark! lol

15K for Southern not bad for a program that people aren't supporting any more.

Do they pay for $32 for tickets to watch from the parking garage? No? Not the same thing.

Yes, I assume App sells those tickets as "standing room only seats", it's not uncommon in stadiums that actually have some room to just stand at. MSU has a grassy area where we sell "SRO" tickets. They are closer to the action than being in the top half of any other section, really.
