Currently Texas State is adding new luxury boxes and premium seating to the stadium. This addition will be added above the current press box. Ground breaking has occurred and is expected to finish in time for the 2009 season.
Here is an exert from the Austin American Statesman regarding future expansion plans.
Teis hopes that in 2010 — the Board of Regents and the economy willing — the sale of 20-year bonds will fund the next phase of stadium improvements, a north end zone complex that will add 9,000 to 10,000 seats to push capacity to approximately 25,000. The expansion plan targets a final goal of 40,000 seats .
The north end complex will cost $25 million to $30 million, Teis said, and revenue from the luxury suites and premium seating will be used to pay down the debt on the bonds.

Looks good.
Of course, getting to the 40K would mean TxSt is off to FBS

Thats the reason for the expansion. It'll be interesting to see if we can fill it. The expansion is expected to happen in phases. If the NCAA rejects our bid to move up or if we can't find a conference that will except us, then I expect the seat total to expand to around 25,000.
Texas St could fill 25,000 with another good playoff run.
Rumor has it that the WAC is our best shot at getting a bid. The travel costs and visiting team attendance would suck. The positive is that the WAC is one of the better non BCS conferences.
I would like to see us get in CUSA just because it would put us in with Houston, SMU, Rice, UTEP, and Tulane. Those schools would be able to travel better. But then the conference is not as good.
I'm just happy the stadium is getting a much needed face lift because the school is trying to move up.

Has anyone posted the expansion pic on here yet? I have it on my server so could do so.
I still think we need to establish a winning program/tradition before moving up but that's me.

Wish we could expand. I just can't come up with the millions to take the roof off, expand, and then put on a new retractable roof.

We don't need a roof. The saturday of the NC it was 73 here.
Besides, football is a game played in the elements. I love getting suntan most of the season as I don't get to sit outside in summer because of work

You say football is a game played in the elements because it was 73 there the day after the NC game.

I tried to post a pic but it said it was too large. I'm not good at resizing and all so you can post one.
I'm still not sold on moving up either. But I think if UTSA does it will hurt our recruiting and market.

Yeah, that made sense, right?
I should have put However, I love......
I should have separated those sentences. I am from the NE originally.
Anyway, no, the next day it was like 65 and then that Monday it went down to 28.

That's the way it is here. 60s one day, 25 the next.
Not sure how our attendance would do if we moved outdoors.
I don't mind cold, but rain or sleet and weather in the 30s mixed together is not something I want.

I don't have a current construction pic. Isn't it just the major portion of the west/home side?

And here I am wondering when Weber State fans are actually going to go to the game.
Weber has the fans, they just need to show up.

Okay, let's do this.
BASEBALL/SOFTBALL
1 - Artist renditions of the new softball/baseball complex - 2 ground views and an aerial rendition

---

---
2 - Aerial photo of progress taken 12-08-08
On bobcatfans there are pics of them adding the ticket booths. Naturally the site is down again

FOOTBALL
This will all be done in stages/phases. They are only working Phase I-a now, which is the west side press boxes and suites. Construction began after our last home game. Interior code upgrades, etc first.
1 - current stadium. I believe this pic is from the Cal Poly playoff game in 2005.

-------
2 - artist rendition of west side with press and suites. The stands are already there, as are elevators that were upgraded/added in 2006(I think it was)
3 - the press boxes
---
4 - suites and bobcat lounge
--------
