It's 18-17 MSU with only 6:47 left now. Bears ball.

I miss good kickers.

edit: also defense

edit 2: also a QB that knows how to get rid of the ball

Mac got loose once from scrambling and got cocky about it and just about broke his fucking arm doing it, and got sacked for huge yardage in terrible situations a couple times after.

There is something ironic about SIU winning against Misery State on a FG kicked by a walkon from Springfield, Mo. Ya gotta love stuff like that.

Salukis pull their heads out for just long enough to get the win on a FG by a kicker MSU passed on.....looked out of sync on offense and defense for most of the game. I sure do hope the bye week contributed to our weak showing or we're in trouble.

I don't think you had a weak showing, I think MSU played a very good game that they should have won if we didn't have a moron for a coach.

Run on f**king 3rd and 8 only up by 1 with just a few minutes left in the game??????????

Stop kicking extra points just because you missed the first one???????

Here at NDSU we know MSU to be a srong, capable football team. This game underscores the point I was making at the begining of the season: SIU is hyped up and not deserving of a ranking. They certrainly werent impressive last year and this year is unfolding in the same manner. The Salukis shouldnt be ranked any higher than 15 and should drop out if they lose again.

I saw a lot of sloppy play on both sides of the ball. I was impressed with MSU front seven despite giving up 420 yds. Likewise Wooden, good job for a converted WR despite 3 picks and under 300 yds offense. I think the bye week can work both for and against a team and that we were flat after ours. I also think we were complacent after playing very well against Ole Miss.

And if we hadn't shanked a 20 yd FG we wouldn't have needed the final drive. Key stat: SIU 10:45 TOP in 4th quarter.

MSU stopped kicking extra points to try and chase points. The first was one wasn't even a miss, it was a botched snap.

Going for two on the second TD was a very poor decision. I think it's silly to try and get your two points back early in the game like that. If MSU had decided to just kick the XP then, they wouldn't have been 'forced' to go for two at the end of the game in order to make it a three point game. Going for two at the end was an attempt to make it so a FG wouldn't beat you, a logical move that any coach would have done. It just would have been unnecessary if the decision to go for two early wasn't made.

And when you get to go for two from the one yard line, you should make it.

I had forgotten about that.

It was an ideal as ever time to try and get the points back with the penalty after the TD. They just shat the bed trying to pass it instead of just punching it in.
