JMU's 2nd straight tough road game to face a team that is struggling mightily on offense.

Coaches pre season picked W&M (2-1) and JMU (2-1) to finish 1 and 2 in the CAA respectively, so certainly the CAA game of the week.

Stats! We need more meaningless statistics! I mean, how else are we, mere spectators, supposed to influence the end result of this game if we don't have an endless amount of stats to dwell on!

Early lean to the Dukes. Preseason polls are meaningless now - that being said W&M's offense has been suprisingly atrocious. W&M fans, what's the deal, is it the OL?, is it the QB?, is it the WR's? , combo of all of the above??

Forget what we fans think. Here are Jimmye Laycock's comments after the game: "We’ve got to block better, we’ve got to protect better, we’ve got to throw better [and] we’ve got to catch better. You know? Other than that we’re pretty good."

It's a Native American curse.
Or perhaps a Griffin curse.
W&M has pissed off a lot of people and mythical entities.

W&M folks. Can you buy a single game off the TribeAthletics.TV site or do I have to pay for a whole month?

Game time is 7 PM (2nd 7 PM game in a row for JMU). Listed as being televised on on CSN MA and CSN NE. I get CSN P, and its scheduled on that too.
Can't make the game because of a GD wedding (weddings should be illegal during football season). Have the ODU @ UD set to record at noon on TCN, UNH @ UR set to record at 3:30 on TCN, and JMU @ W&M set to record at 7 PM on CSN-P.

+1. Only 13 points against a division 2 team?

I like JMU in this one. If they can't score more than 13 against New Haven I can't see how they are going to score more than that against a good JMU defense, correct me if I'm wrong.

We play twice on Sat.??? Do we have the travel worked out for Harrisonburg to Williamsburg? Split squad?...that's always good to get some reserves some reps.

ODU ... the same kind of statement could be said about JMU against CCSU (although CCSU was MUCH better than a D2) ... but if JMU could only put up 14 on CCSU, how could they put up more on Liberty's defense? Well we put up 27. That's why the game is played on any given saturday. I know WM is hurting on offense right now and trying to find a groove ... but it's a rivarly game and I expect it to be close, regardless. I think JMU puts up 24 ... WM 14 ... I like that score right now

well regardless, I still like JMU in this game. I don't think playing on the road will make much of a factor and JMU has shown me a little bit more than WM in regards to believing in one team vs. the other.

I believe JMU's qb has recently gained some much needed confidence allowing the offense to open a bit and move the ball... JMU 28 W&M 10.

Our games 1-3 starting QB (Paulus) is expected to be benched and our new QB (Graham) has played very well. Our 2009 defense was excellent and held JMU to 3 points in Williamsburg. W&M couldn't stop the run last season but the All-CAA MLB (Trantin) is back and the defense looks very good.
I'm not sure where the disrespect comes from regarding New Haven. They won their conference last season and beat West Chester (the team that gave UD all they could handle) in week one. A blocked punt inside our 20 and New Haven only managed 3 points. A busted play lead to the other 7. New Haven could beat a lot of FCS teams.
In recent history, our 2nd string QBs have come in and performed exceptionally well. 16-14 Tribe. Okay, or 38-12 JMU.

Offense has been bad and the majority of the blame goes to QB play. We are very good at OL, TE, and RB and the running game has been pretty good considering our usually balanced offense has not kept defenses honest with a legit pass attack. Fairly young and inexperienced receiver corp without our top WR (Moody) has not helped either.
Paulus has not played to the same level he showed last year before his shoulder injury. Tribe fans feel for him, but most believe its time to move on. Graham played well the second half against NH and looked good in reserve time against UVA. I suspect he will get the start against JMU. Switching QBs will stunt the development of an offense that is already behind schedule in implementing Laycock's system. But, even with a limited playbook, if Graham can complete some throws like he did against NH and restore balance to the offense, things should start clicking on offense.
JMU should be favored in this game. Turning the offense around in one week is probably too tall an order, but there's too much talent there not to get it going eventually.
