So here I am left licking wounds in the after glow of another awesome Missoula trip and yet another close game ending in defeat.

Pre-season hopes and expectations are dashed and after an 0-3 start it's time to re-group. Here is my new dream season for 2011:

Run the table, get an at-large.

Beat a 10-1 OVC, Southland or CAA or SoCon # 2 or #3 on the road.

Smuggle cowbells across the N.D. Border, meet Bill Fette in Fargo, and boot stomp the #1 seeded NFL/big 12 team in the Dakota's.

Triumphantly return to Missoula in the semi's, finally meet the mythological GATW, actually pay for a round of drinks, and avenge three years of close losses.

Return to Frisco and finally get Polson to make it to an Eagle away game.

What are yours?

run the table in the Socon, get the #1 or #2 seed in the playoff field and home field advantage throughout the playoffs (because we won't get any homefield otherwise) and make our run to Frisco, finishing 14-1

Beat the Eags and Griz on the road. Everything else will take care of itself.

Make the playoffs, beat JMU at home (since they ducked us in the regular season), App State at The Rock (to avenge 2007), Montana in cold and loud (so I can take a nice road trip to meet that crew), and Georgia Southern in Frisco (because that's another crew I want to party with).

Yes, I realize this scenario is pretty much logically impossible, but it's all a dream.

Make the playoffs only to get curb stomped by SUU and then watch them meet up with MSU in the Chipper.

Win another game this season.

For UNI it would be to win the title.


I don't give a shit who we beat, and if every game is a 1 point win on a last second FG or if we are the last team in the playoffs and have to play every game on the road

UNI and Philadelphia Eagles fans have this in common. I'm sick of good regular seasons. Get some bling, dammit.

Go 7-1 in the MEAC to finish 9-2 winning the tiebreaker with SC State and BCU to get the AQ.

Play a PL team in the 1st round, get the 1st MEAC victory in the playoffs in a decade, return to Delaware in the 2nd round, win a close hard-fought game to avenge the 45-0 loss. Go to SC State for the quarterfinals. Beat them again. After that it gets fuzzy...

Also Elko awarded as best FCS QB.

Whomp coach Fran upside the head with a 2x4 until he realizes that the guy he has at QB isn't a QB and he puts Arndt in so we can at least leave the SLC with a winning record.

GATW does exist. You can't pay for a round of drinks in Missoula. Maybe on the third.

1. Have an above .500 record in conference...
2. By some miracle win the conference and get a seed in the playoffs.

After those two things are accomplished, win the national title. I don't care how it happens.

(Dream Season would also imply and MVFC title and a National Championship - but beating UNI just once would be great)
