Kickoff scheduled for 5 pm PDT from Portland's new Jeld-Wen field. The Lumberjacks come into the game at 1-1, having lost at Arizona and beating Fort Lewis. The Vikings sit at 1-0, having only played one game, at home against the NAIA's Southern Oregon. Many questions on both sides this early. The last meeting was the last weekend of the year last year when the Jacks beat the Vikings 62-14 in Flagstaff. Different looks from both teams this year as the Jacks return only 9 starters and the Vikings played last year's game without Kavanaugh and McCaffrey. Kavanaugh is scheduled to start and he should be ready, having only played one quarter against Southern Oregon. Weather should be cloudy, chance of rain and temps near 70 at kickoff.

I am expecting a good ground battle, It will be my first look at PSU, I caught the NAU vs Az game. I think that these two teams have the potentiol to be the 2 best running teams and run defense teams in the BSC this year.

Vikings scoreless quarter streak now at 5 quarters. McCaffrey has scored both touchdowns on rushing attempts. Vikings also have blocked a punt for the second game in a row.

Jacks came alive in the second quarter, yet the Vikings pretty much held serve. McCaffrey currently over 100 yards for the game. What was thought to be a grinder type of game is slowly becoming a shootout.

Impressed with PSU's running game in particular. McCaffrey's a beast. Cavanaugh is like a greased pig out there. Not impressed at all with NAU's running game up to the moment. Bauman seems off tonight. Time to switch to Dixon, maybe? Still early, though.

This has really been a good game by both teams. NAU will get the ball back with about 1 minute left. 4th down for PSU at PSU 40.

This is a great start to the Big Sky Conference season. Wish I was in Portland with NAU alum friends tonight.
