The Panthers will make their way to Greeley in 2013 and the Bears will be in Iowa in 2014. I'm looking forward to this as both used to play in the NCC in D2. See blurb on the bottom of the page link.

Good get. Makes me wonder why Weber can't, or won't try, to get a FCS team from the midwest to come to Ogden.

Good get. Makes me wonder why Weber can't, or won't try, to get a FCS team from the midwest to come to Ogden.

NDSU did a home and home a few years back with Weber

NDSU needs to get another one started with Weber here sometime, so does UNI, SDSU, SFA and any other FCS team out there

Weber is too concerened about what FBS teams they are going to play

That was 2004 and 2005. Before that you have to go back to a home and home with McNeese St in 1990 and 1992.

That was my first thought. The payday is too important (and critical) to give it up for a potential loss WITHOUT a payday.

Good series. Another North Central Conference tie-in. The NCC was/is a big deal. UNI was part of it. So was UNC.

I really, really wish the NCC would have moved up as a whole back in the 90's, when conferences could do that...

Excellent, it appears UNI has taken a page from the NDSU football conglomerate's scheduling model and taken the opportunity to schedule an intra-divisional game. A "counter", if you will. This game will be played within the luxurious confines of Stewart Stadium in Ogden, Utah - home of the prestigious Big Sky Conference.This will surely be a game of national prominence.

Yes, it appears others have caught on to the "NDSU model" of scheduling intra-divisional opponents.

Wait, nevermind. It appears Northern Colorafodo offers scholarships for football. So much for that theory.

I'm surprised UNI allowed the contract to be written in that order. Had it been done UNI game first, UNC game second, UNI would have had a legit shot at buying their way out of the second game.

Not that that would be the right thing to do. But it's what's expected when there's such a big difference in team quality.

Many people hoped for the same thing back when the original vote was taken. When the vote was rejected, UNC and NDSU were on the way to I-AA. NDSU waited a year and partnered up with SDSU for conference affiliation. UND, USD and UNO have since joined the move to DI, although UNO loses it's football and wrestling programs. There was talk of moving to I-AA in the 1970's when the split happened.

NDSU also had a home and home with Weber St in 1978-79. In 1978, NDSU's first 3 games were NAU, Weber St and Montana St.
