Montana needs your support

Not the GRIZ , or any of Joe's kids, but the Little League team. They have made it to the USA finals. Quite the story, and a very exciting time for Montana. I hope some of the East Coast sports fans can make it to Williamsport, and get on the Montana bandwagon. These kids need your support........how about it, fellow FCS fans? :thumb:

Mods please wait to move this until the weekend is done. :thumb:

Indeed.

It is blowing my mind somewhat that the 3 American teams remaining represent 3 of the major chapters of my life. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and my first year of college was spent at Lock Haven (home base of Keystone Little League), Montana goes without saying, and I'm intending to move to southern California within the next year for my career...if Denmark (studied abroad there) managed to learn what baseball was and make it to the International Final my mind would be completely blown.

Ugh, as an East Coast guy it's hard to go against the hometown team story from Keystone, PA. It is great to see the community bring a crowd of 35-40K to watch 12 year olds play little league. If Keystone is eliminated tonight, then I'll root for Montana, if not and it's a PA/MT US Final, I'll be rooting for Keystone. Montana going deep is another great story coming out of South Williamsport this year at the LLWS.

I love the LLWS. I used to go every summer with my dad and brother. Great memories.

We were at the previous attendance record setting game before this year (Trumble, CT vs. Chinese Tapei).

Absolutely great place to take kids.

I'm with you. I was pulling for the Montana team last night.
FWIW, my hometown is a HUGE baseball town. Sent teams to Williamsport 4 times (95, 98, 99, & 10) and missed another chance to go in 2005 by blowing a 3-2 lead in the last inning of the Regional Final (on ESPN2 though). Beat Japan for all the marbles in 98 (Star player for that team now playing for the Reds and homered last night). My kids are now playing LL ball so I am a big fan of LL baseball.

Would love to see a Penn-Montana US Final and see the "home" team go down.
The annoucers said that this Montana team lost in the Regional finals last year. To get that close and not make it can be devastating. But they came back, with two returning players, and made it to Williamsport.

Billings Big Sky has a rematch with Cali tomorrow at 12:00 eastern.
We know the Askelson kid that hit the home run the other night, my son wrestled him in the state USAW/AAU championship match a couple of years ago.

I asked this in the other thread, but I'll ask it here too...I believe in that epic pitching duel that the Billings pitcher exceeded the pitch count on Wednesday and won't be able to pitch today. California pulled their pitcher and therefore will be able to pitch today. Does someone know for sure?

Montana's pitcher cant go for sure, I am not sure on Cali, i have heard both is available and not, I am not sure of the rules and how many he pitched before being pulled. If he went over 50 then he couldn't pitch until tomorrow. I guess we will find out soon

Maybe some year they'll have a true "double elimination" tourney.

The boys had a hell of a run though, quite an accomplishment to get as far as they did considering the competition.
