We were a destination musically. The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Aretha Franklin, Bob Seger, Glenn Frey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan to name a few used to make the journey to record here. Now we are known mostly for having a great song writing community who write hit songs for everyone from Jessica Simpson to Jimmy Buffett to Carrie Underwood.

The local Indian tribes called the Tennessee the Singing River and it translated into the music business. It also didn't hurt that the father of the Blues WC Handy and the father of Rock and Roll Sam Phillips were born here and the Godfather of R&B Jerry Wexler was here for many years.

Well I guess all that will have to wait. In the meantime, Thursday night will NOT be a pleasant night for Central Oklahoma! I'm sure the Lions are starving for some red meat after a long diet!
