Hornets' first game may not be so bad after all...

Now, this is by no means a guarantee that we'll beat Oregon State. But certain things have developed such that this will be Sac State's best chance in a LONG time to pull off a FBS/B(C)$ win. Kadeezy reported on SacBuzz that the Beaver roster has taken a severe hit from injuries and suspensions, particularly affecting anticipated starters. This could benefit Sac in the form of subs allowing us to stay in the game beyond the point at which they should slam the door. If that happens, it's anybody's guess as to who will win.

I'm still predicting a close Hornet win. But win or lose, this could prove to be a great game to watch.

Well, any Big Sky team beating any Pac-12 team = awesomeness.

So, good luck.

While I will be rooting for Suck State, I think they lose by 30+.

It's happened before. Of course, in none of those cases was Sac involved. LOL.

Who is giving -13.5 odds for OSU, can't find the spread anywhere online.

Hardly any severe hits from Beaver Nation that would indicate the Hornets have any chance. Riley does not run the score up so the game could look closer than it was. If the Hornets could improve on our game with the Beavs from 2009 (34-7), I'd be mildly surprised.

No one...because that is way to stupid of a bet.

I was just throwing that number out.

I should have save 26.5, but oh well.

I think most of the players who are suspended for game 1 for OSU are incoming and/or redshirt freshman who probably wouldn't have seen the field until the 4th quarter anyways. I'll be happy if we escape this game with our health intact.

While I hope they put up a good fight, it will be the beaver over the stingers. The best chance for a Big Sky team to knock off a FBS school is Weber over Wyo or Utah St, IMO. But I don't think that will happen, either.

Actually SD, their two starting DTs look to be unavailable game one as well as their best player and biggest mismatch for the Hornets, James Rodgers.

Now that is interesting. I also saw they have their big FB hurt until late Sept and one of their WR or TE’s that contributed last season is looking to have health issues as well. Seems like OSU will have quite a few question marks coming into week 1.

The reason the DT losses are so intriguing to me is the fact that the D-line should've been a major OSU advantage. I think that our WRs against their DBs is an even match up actually.

Now, I can't wait to see Hilliard and Shaw running through a D-line with backups. I'd say we're evened up there now too...

It's not like Riley was going to play the starters major minutes anyway. The depth a Pac-12 team like OSU has should be enough to get them the win. Our game, Riley had backups in after the third series, even after we had two drives into Beaver territory. Riley won't want to risk any serious injury, not with Wisconsin coming up the next week. If Sac State can stay within 4 TD's, that should be a good "moral" victory.

Last year, Washington State's depth finally wore down Montana State at the end. This year's Beaver team is not at all like last year's Wazzu team, and your team is not like the Bobcats last year.

Kadeezy's reporting ANOTHER OSU injury, a potential starting WR.

If this keeps coming, will the FBS brownie points still be there? Now, I'm starting to get worried about that.
