PSU
John Benjamin-Nichols DL 3 season Spec Team/DE/OLB
Ty Coleman WR Transfer from EWU...productive deep route specialist-key loss
Steve Cooper WR - walkon in '07-Special teams
Aaron Dickson SS - 4th most productive D player this season-but expect to have good depth remaining at SS
Stan Jackson CB - shared corner duties with Reggie Jones in '08...led team in int. in '07...very productive player...had "season ending" knee injury in Odgen. Tragic for a great young man (a team leader all the players looked up to) being scouted and expected to be a free-agent.
Reggie Jones CB - transfer from Idaho...started in '08...expect Onu, Ford or Godinet to step up in '09...also expect to see CB recruited heavily this year.
Landan Lairusaitis OL - starting LT, injured 2nd play in MT game, replaced by FR Waldron who performed well against Griz.
KJ McCrae OLB - 3rd most productive D player...but closely followed by JR Ryan Pedersen, so loss is minimal.
Clayton Rios OL - Starting RG...has been a key player, but Vikes have picked up several OLG this year...so loss is mitigated
Andy Schantz ILB - #1 D player...however, his backup are JR Eric Pedersen (#2 D player) and SO Rory Richards, both all-league caliber, so loss is minimal.
Lloyd Talakai DT - shared DT duties with Manapuna and Jacobs. Look for Vikes to recruit DT heavy this year.
Danny Urrego K/P- key loss...led team in scoring with 97% PAT, 65% FG pct. Replacement looks like SO Robert Truax who has the leg but lacks experience.
With 52 new players coming in this last season...41 FR and 11 transfers, even though the depth chart has already been pencilled in, the sky's the limit for talent. Minimal losses this year.

Griz are losing some VERY important pieces, including:
Colt Anderson (S), 3 year starter, Buchanan Award finalist and Griz career leader with over 300 tackles
Cole Berquist (QB), starting QB for 2 full seasons
JD Quinn (C),
Ciarre Campbell (CB)
Rob Schulte (WR), 2nd leading return man
Andrew Schmidt (RB)
Tom Martin (LB)
Craig Mettler (DT), 3 year starter
Dan Carter (OG)
Tyler Corwin (LB) - 3rd leading tackler
Paul LaMantia (DT)
Brent Russum (OT), 3 year starter
Colin Dow (OG), 3 year starter
Mike Ferriter (WR), 2nd leading receiver
Mike Standyk (DE), 2 year starter
Jesse Carlson (DT)
Montana is losing most of both interior lines, their QB, stud Safety, #2 and #3 receivers....Jesus, and I thought THIS year was supposed to be a rebuilding year....

The most critical loss is QB Liam Coen...not sure who is going to be taking the snaps this year...The offensive line loses starter LG Ben Coblyn and center Sean Calicchio...TE Ian Jorgensen is the other major loss from the offense...
On defense, the Minutemen need to replace NT Shaun Allen, DE Darnel DeLaire and DE Darrlyn Fenner, LB Andrew Resende-Gomes and LB George Byrd. A big loss in the defensive backfield are CB Courtney Robinson and CB Sean Smalls, along with CB Keiron Brown Sr. and SS Brian Ellis...
Punter Brett Arnold is the biggest hole that needs to be filled on special teams...
It's going to be real interesting to see who gets the starting QB job as Scott Woodward has not impressed many folks...I know there's a kid from Florida who was a redshirt this year who will compete...

Northern Iowa will be better than this year with QB Grace and a huge, now experienced, offensive line both back.
Slightly friendlier schedule with WIU, ILSU and SIU @ home. Visiting both Dakotas will be no picnic, but.....

92 Austin Curtis DL 5-11 275 Sr. Layton, Utah (Layton HS)
99 Aaron Fernandez DT 6-2 285 Sr. Mesa, Arizona (Mesa CC) (Red Mountain HS)
53 Jeff Janes OL 6-2 240 Sr. Cedar City, Utah (Canyon View HS)
15 Joel Johnson TE 6-4 245 Sr. Peoria, Arizona (Phoenix College) (Centennial HS)
12 DeWayne Lewis CB 5-11 190 Sr. Denver, Colorado (Michigan St.) (Jefferson HS)
6 Nick Miller WR 5-9 175 Sr. Scottsdale, Arizona (Scottsdale CC) (Red Mountain HS)
17 Troy Osborne DB 5-11 195 Sr. Peoria, Arizona (Phoenix College) (Centennial HS) (ASU)
11 LaVar Porter LB 6-2 230 Sr. Las Vegas, Nevada (Cheyenne HS)
4 Tico Pringle CB 5-10 190 Sr. Rochester, N.Y. (Snow JC) (Brigham Young)
10 Steve Pulver K 5-9 165 Sr. Salt Lake City, Utah (Highland HS)
22 DJ Senter S 6-1 205 Sr. Las Vegas, Nevada (Bishop Gorman HS)
14 Cody Stone QB 5-11 205 Sr. Bakersfield, California (Bakersfield CC) (North HS)
89 Thatcher Taylor WR 5-11 180 Sr. Dillon, Montana (Montana-Western) (Beaverhead County HS)
66 Jeremy Vilardo OL 6-1 265 Sr. Las Vegas, Nevada (Victor Valley CC) (Centennial HS)
Okay biggest thing for us here is that we are going to have to find and hopefully get a good quarterback. Stone wasnt great but he was a dual threat who could run or pass, hopefully we get that except he throws less interceptions!

. We also have a great WR core led by Tyson Poots (only a sophmore!) so our passing game should be good if not better. Other then that i think we are very well set with our running game, we are only losing one starter on our O-line and hopefully that means we will be able to actually have more of a running game next year. I trust Lamb so i cant wait until next year!

Offense
Center - Jeff Bowen
FB - Blake Burton
RB - Stan Zwinggi
TE - John Gilley
WR - Cameron Luke
WR - Adrian Thomas
WR - Corey Hickerson
QB - Clint Toon
Defense
LB - Jarvis Coleman
LB - Coutney Smith
DB - Morris Crosby
DL - Wellington DeShield
DL - Ray Parker III
DL - Brian Quackenbush
DE - Donovan King
DE - Freddy Paige
S - Jamal Williams
Our PK
Andrew Ireland
(I'm missing someone because we are losing 19 and I listed 18)
Don't know if we have another PK lined up, or if we do he will be as good as Ireland was the past 3 years. These are the next to last class recruited by our former coach and we have a talent laden group of redshirts ready to move into place. We are only losing our second string QB, so we are still solid in that area with a more than decent backup coming off the bench in 2009 but, we are also losing our all everything WR in Cameron Luke. The D line will be something to get tested in the spring and fall before our schedule starts and we have some up and coming receivers that, collectively, have big shoes to fill. They were field tested this past season, so we'll see.
Watch for our APR ranked RB Karrington Bush to continue to improve as a junior and true sophomore Mishak Rivas, WR, (but could get up there in APR if utilized properly) to only get better.

Thanks, I'm on a few others.
I need to correct who we are losing.
Add
DB - Michael Rutledge.
I knew there were 19
And for the curious, yes, Ray Parker III is the son of Ray (Ghost Busters) Parker, Jr.

You were giving AZGriz shit for following you around and now it looks like your chasing Tman around. Of course this is the second time I've quoted you today to be fair so what do you say Black Falkin, maybe we should all just get together for a good time huh?
