I was all ready to hear some head knocking yesterday and the practice got driven into the gym due to thunderstorms. Oh well hopefully they stay away long enough to get some hitting in today. Boys are chomping at the bit to hit somebody.

Good article from Charleston Southern's first day of practice
Buccaneers Make Most of First Practice Indoors
(Charleston Southern Head Coach, Jay) Mills welcomed 93 players to campus, the most in Mills' tenure as head coach. The coach said the incoming freshman class reported to camp in great physical shape.
Pre-Season All-American Junior Cornerback Charles James said...
"I know I speak for a lot of guys, we really were excited about the start of camp and getting out there in that heat and showing our coaches how much we have improved," said James. "It was disappointing, but we still got some important things done.
"I think it's a very talented group and it's a very fast group, so we certainly have potential there," Mills said. "We're a little inexperienced at a few positions, really, and the thing I told this team was we're going to be a good football team. How quickly it happens for us will depend on our leadership and maturity."

If it's any consolation, they wouldn't have been in full pads anyway. The NCAA's acclimatization rule says that the first two practices have to be in helmets only.
