Post your top 5 NFL guys from the FCS this year ... and by that I mean ... highest overall picks with best talent (2012 picks only NO ANDREW PIERCE haha)

1. Trumaine Johnson (Montana)
He's been picking off QBs for a long time in the FCS.

2. Aaron Corp (Richmond)
Transfer from USC -- Maybe not as good as Matt Barkley...but was highly touted in high school.

3. R. Williams (EWU) DT
4. D. McNorton (NDSU) RB
5. B. Levi Mitchell (EWU) QB

Sorry, but there are 7-8 QB's in FCS better than Mitchell... :coffee:

But they're not seniors. Don't get me wrong, I don't think BLM has much if any shot at the NFL, but this year's FCS QB class isn't too great.

Well anybody's top 5 has to include 4 of the NDSU offensive linemen, doesn't it?

I'm talking strictly QBs. With that said, to answer your question... of course. Duh.

I'm not too sure about your #4 or 5. I didn't think McNorton was that spectacular when he was in Cheney last year, although he is definitely good. Bo Levi did a great job at times, but was also outright awful at times last season. He's one of the better QBs in the country... but not the best at this level.

How about the Sorenson kid out of Southern Utah? I thought he was the best QB Eastern faced last season, and that included Colin Kaepernick from Nevada.

McNorton ran too slow in the spring to be considered draftable, IMO. He is a great player though.

If you are saying this is your top 5 remember the top 5 FCS players are all gone by the end of the 4th round. Here are my top FCS guys (possible top 4 round picks)

WR Brian Quick
CB Ryan Steed
CB Trumaine Johnson
OT Tom Compton
DT Renard Williams
CB Asa Jackson
CB Micah Pellerin
QB B.J. Coleman

The SUU QB is just a junior.

Those are 5 darn good ones.

Quick is a guy people are expecting the upside with and if he lives up to the talent he is the best FCS prospect since DRC.

Steed is a shut down corner with a NFL body.

Johnson the same as Steed but bigger.

Jackson is a versatile corner who doesn't shut his side down as well but he is fast (4.40) and can be a return specialist.

Compton is a name that everyone but PS seems to be sleeping on. Compton is not mean but a good athlete, has great size, and doesn't get beat. He moves very well, too.

I definitely agree with those five.

Sorenson is a Junior this year.......also, agree on 4 and 5. McNorton is a solid player but probably not NFL caliber IMO. Mitchell is probably more of a CFL type guy at only 6'2.....he also needs to cut down on the picks to be in any serious discussion.

Maybe I should post the CBS Sports Prospects Listings for FCS players a few times during the season. I suspect they are in direct and constant communication with scouts. I am not.

Well, McNorton is running behind an NFL caliber offensive line, so he'll probably look better than he really is. :coffee:
