This is actually kind of cool, because I never have actually gotten to witness the 2nd half beatdown EWU laid on the Blue Chickens.... :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Were you one of the ones that stupidly turned it off when it was 19-0? 8-)

Even worse, I was one of those who had plans that day and was nowhere near a television set. :ohno: :ohno:

Another one of the great things about ESPN3. If you have it, you can replay pretty much any game that was shown on any of the ESPN channels. Also great game.

And there's the botched call. Replay official should have called immediately to say don't move the chains.

You have to go to the replay section and search for it. Refine the search to "NCAAF" and the EWU-Delaware game should come up under Friday Jan 7th. 2010 date.

Hell all of the '10 season is available to view on replay, including bowls that aired on ESPN stations.

Nice! I thought they took 'em off after a few months. After I get done with this 12 hour shift I'm about to start I'm gonna have to watch the ndsu and Nova games. Never saw the ESPN versions since I was at both of those games. :)

......and those refs, mainly the replay official, ruined a very good 2010 1-AA post season. :censored:

I have no idea what the answer is, but it seemed (from the announcers comments) that "not moving the chains" isn't part of their process. The one guy clearly said "they need to tighten up this process and not move the chains...."

So, basically, but for cowbell, red turf, Bill Fette and the championship game replay official, EWU wouldn't have stood a chance. :coffee:

When CAA teams win, they're superior. When other teams win, it's because of the refs. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I think there was some confusion created by the officials because the markers were actually laying slightly more than 10 yards out. Clearly, the play was reviewed not once, not twice, but three full times for spot and chain accuracy... it's going to be pretty hard to argue the call was wrong unless you are just working off a preconceived bias.

While at the game, I thought there was no doubt that he made it. When the announcers on TV first viewed it, they had no doubt about him making the first down either. It wasn't until they started comparing to the across-field marker that there was any question at all.

However, what was funny is the very next drive with Delaware trying toscore, there was a play in which Devlin is tackled about half a yard from where the marker showed a first down (and was spotted in a place that looked correct) and well behind the line shown on television. But the measurement gave him a first down by a matter of inches.

Whether you want to cry foul or not, the same standard was used for both teams....

Basically correct. Its what a lot of the fans from the SE call a "fortunate championship".

No, Mitchell and the Eagles won the game. Even after the replay incident, they still had to go in and score, and they did. Still hate to see that kind of chaos from officials, especially in a championship game.

And there's a moment like that in just about every game, every weekend, during football season. :coffee:

Can't agree with that. That was an officiating debacle that consumed alot of time. I can count on one hand the number of times I see stuff like that each year...TV or live.

Maybe not that "involved", but there's a referee fuck-up or two almost every game. They're not all as "visible" as the one during the NC game, but they're there.
