Think anyone with the slightest knowledge on the BS figured would be Liberty, SB, CCU 1,2,3.

I'm just going to let the Bucs talk on the field this year. Last year I said they had the best talent that the school had ever had and they won 3 games. No predictions out of me this year.

So ... am I going to be the first to point out that Liberty has been predicted to be #1 for the past few years and not been able to finish their season in such a way that the prediction actually came to fruition? I know someone is going to rant about GW's tendency to falter at the end of the season, but, I believe that is about to change. The Runnin' Bulldogs off-season conditioning has finally risen to a D-IAA level and with the new offensive and defensive schemes that will surely catch other BS contenders off guard, I suspect that GW will finish #1 or #2.

Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

I agree with CSUBUCDAD. I'm not making predictions either. On the surface, it looks like the pre-season poll has been voted the way it should be voted. I think it is pretty accurate.

I like what Charleston Southern head coach Jay Mills said in response to the poll...
“I think most of the coaches will always say the preseason poll is mostly used for fans,” said Coach Mills. “They excite individuals for water cooler discussion and help kickoff, in this case, the 2011 season. So coaches don’t take a lot of stock in preseason polls. In fact, we’re more fearful than we are anything else. We actually prefer to be voted lower than the number one team. We’d rather be the surprise team, the one chasing the big dog than to have everybody chasing you and be the leader of the pack. We’re pleased and see it as a sign of respect to be right in the middle consider we lost 18 seniors, which is the largest group we’ve ever lost. It shows they believe we have a program that can recycle and continue to reload.”
Come on Buccaneers, use this as motivation. Prove them wrong and overachieve. That is what we do at Charleston Southern. GO BUCS!!!

I know we haven't won the outright title the last 2 years, but it goes down in the history books as us being conference champions 4 years in a row now.

Manson's right elcid...those championships are still championships for Liberty...if we went by that logic than CCU wouldnt have made history as having three straight conference championships because they ended up sharing it in 2005.

BJuice, its great to use that as some sort of motivation but the players are going to have to learn to get themselves up for games eventually. CSU opens with five straight games (two of them FBS games) and chances are the Bucs, with new starters at many positions (including QB) will get beaten rather solidly (especially against FSU). I think itll be a tough year down in Charleston but there will be hope for 2012.

Charles James is really good for the Bucs; he should transfer to the Citadel. I would be heavily in favor.

Rob Bailey was at Big South Media Day despite not getting enough votes:

I didn't know the Big South had two FBS upsets last year. I only remember the Gardner-Webb over Akron one. That's really quite impressive.
