Eastern should have a couple good games toward the end of September, playing UM then MSU. They can make it tough for the rest of us fairly early in the season if they win both those. I wish we were playing you at home - that red field is annoying on TV and I don't think I'll make it to Cheney to see if it's as bad in person.

I can tell you that a lot of people were sketched out by the thought of red turf prior to installation. Pretty much everyone I know has been won over when they've actually seen it. The turf is a very vibrant red, but on some TVs- depending on color- it make look either orangey or crimson. In person, it is neither, just very red.

I walked around on it a couple of weeks ago and it is pretty cool when on top of it. It tends to reflect a lot of heat and get hot in the Summer, though.

And yeah, Eastern's schedule sucks this year. Three road games to open the season and it's almost must-win for two of them. Followed by Montana State at home. It'll be a tough one, that's for sure. Playing South Dakota on the road in week #2 really makes it a lot of travel and a lot of roadies.

Since we played you at home last year, the only times I've seen the field have been part of the Griz game and the playoffs last year. The color/picture for the Griz games always seems to be kinda crappy and for the playoffs I had to stream it on the computer, so maybe it will be better (would be hard to be worse) than I thought.

Either way, I'm planning on us ruining your first home game this season. ;)

Don't bet your house on it. ;)

If you play the Griz the week before it's pretty much a sure bet that MSU will win. :coffee:

Don't worry, I won't. :) I am expecting a great game, but a lot can happen between now and then...

....and as an added bonus, when there's snow on it (like during the playoffs, it looks like a used maxipad. 8-)

Not really. Last year yeah, but all-time, it's like 60% or something like that. Remember somebody looking it up and posting it on eGriz. :coffee:

I was that guy. lol

Teams that play Montana lose the following game 65-or-so% of the time, based on the last 10 years or so. But there are instances where it isn't true at all. Teams went undefeated after playing UM in 2009, which was one of our strongest teams.

I should go back and check the difficulty of the following week to get a better idea. I remember a lot of teams playing the lower BSC teams the week after playing the Griz in 2009, so it'd be interesting to see the correlation.

If we lose to the Griz, I'm not worried at all. I would hate to be the MSU team that comes into Roos Field expecting a win the week after we drop a big game like that.

I wouldn't concede the game either way, but I think I'd rather play you after a win than after a loss with the way things look right now.
