Defending Division I national champion Eastern Washington dominated the Big Sky Conference Preseason All-Conference Team, and Montana State’s DeNarius McGhee and Sacramento State defensive Zack Nash garnered individual preseason awards.
McGhee, a sophomore quarterback from Euless, Texas, was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Nash, a senior defensive end from Vacaville, Calif., was tabbed the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
Eastern Washington placed eight members on the 29-player team, which was voted by a select group of media and sports information directors. Six players were named on all 17 ballots, while 17 of the 29 players earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2010.
Beau Baldwin’s Eagles capped a 13-2 season beating Delaware 20-19 in the 2010 Division I National Championship game. EWU should be in the hunt again with the talent returning on both sides of the ball.
Eagle junior wide receiver Brandon Kaufman and senior defensive tackle Renard Williams were both unanimous selections to the team. They are joined on the squad by Eagle teammates Chris Powers (center), Gabe Jackson (offensive tackle), Zach Johnson (linebacker), Matt Johnson (safety), Jeff Minnerly (safety) and special teams star Darriell Beaumonte.

Good for those who made the list.
But last year only 12 out of 30 preseason picks made the final All-big Sky team.

Who didn't vote for Trumaine Johnson? I think he might be the best player in the Big Sky right now. At the very least, he's a good candidate for best player in the Big Sky at a position that is tough to recruit for in the FCS ranks. The CB out of Cal Poly is really good too.

Waldhauser has no business being on there ahead of Minter. I fully expect Minter to be there at the end and be a Buchanan candidate as well. And our WR Bleskin might be on there by season's end too.

IMHO...
TENN - Most likely a loss
MSU - You can never tell ( I say Griz due to homer pick of course)
EWU - I have a feeling they will not up us at home.

And Montana can be glad they jumped ship and got SUU off the schedule and replaced it with Northwestern School of the Blind Arts.

I don't remember us having SUU on the schedule this year. I'd love to replace our D2 game with a lower FCS school.

SUU isn't a lower FCS school.......if they continue improving, they'll be a mid-tier team in the big sky capable of upsetting some of the traditional power teams.

It was on the schedule for a while, I don't know why they switched it. And as Grizza said, they're not a lower tier FCS team. They might've been 4 or 5 years ago, but they're not right now. They gave us all we could handle last year in Cheney. Although their QB Sorensen, a dropdown from BYU, is most of their team. He's the real deal.

So you're just about tackles. Look at the rest of the stats.

I can't find Waldhauser stats from last year, but here are Minters.
28 tackles
10 tackles for a loss
5 sacks
9 pass break ups
2 INT (one ran back for TD)
1 fumble caused.
