I remember Coach Kill seemed to always have a stud running back to go to. Lennon's team is more balanced but this year lose starting QB and all the receivers, plus Walker was half the running attack. When you have to replace a coach like Kill, you may need a little more patience with the new guy. Above .500 will be a lot to hope for this season.

DL has been MVC coach of the year twice in his three seasons at SIU.

Paul McIntosh has started about ten games the past two seasons.

Lucien Walker was the 3rd leading rusher with about 450 yards of about 2300 total yards rushing, about 20% of the rushing yards.

Last year's MVC top rated-defense will be better this year without three Fr DBs and the return of AA FS Mike McElroy. We'll be in all the games but Ol' Miss.....

Better than .500 this year? I think so. Playoffs? I think so. :coffee:

Its been a downward spiral for SIU under Lennon. He came into Fargo. looked like one of the 3 stooges on the sideline and got beat with his team arguing and out of control on the sidelines. I guess they were mimicking Lennons behavior?

Last year, after NDSU got done pounding on them again, I guess they had too many underclassman. Another excuse I heard was injuries. I also heard excuses about too many fumbles, mistakes etc.

The cracks are starting to appear.

Ps. You will need fewer injury prone players and better running backs.
