Speaking of "Western" football...

I fully expect Weber, Cal Poly and NDSU to be in the mix next year. I also wouldn't look past Portland St. (When Glanville finally gets his own recruits playing at full speed) or EWU.

I'd like to here from fans of those respective teams about their opinions for next season, as well as from any "western" team I may have overlooked. UC Davis (Good football team in '08, I watched them keep it close at Wa-Griz this year), Texas St. (Good people, loved having them here in Missoula), McNeese (can't keep them down for long), Sac. St. (an under-performing team who really screwed up my Big Sky pick-em's every week).

Anyone?

Weber should be very good again next year.

NAU will be 6-5, as always, losing to a FBS team, beating a D-II, beating SUU at home, 4-4 in conference.

NDSU's cupboard is bare. They won't make waves until '11, mimimum.

Weber gets there whole offense back, Higgins, Smith, Toone, and Nakamura, and that great offensive line.

Offense will be powerful again.

Weber loses 8 of their 11 defensive starters, not to mention, Utah State hired 2 of our defensive coaches, and one of our offensive coaches,

It will be interesting to see how our defense will be next year, but Weber usually has a good defense.

Weber State will once again Challenge the Grizzlies for the Big Sky Title next year, but they got to go through WGS.

Portland State is my team to watch out for, They have an awesome offense, if they get a defense to go with that offense, both Weber and Montana better watch out.

As for the Great West, a conference that consists of 5 teams, I see Cal Poly being the team to beat again, but UC Davis is on the rise.

Hopefully the NCAA will shuffle the western teams a little better in the playoffs next year.

I don't know about that. But, it never gets old that when I wear my Griz jersey around here in Scheels or the mall, I get boo'd. Works every time.
