Kinda looks like it's not done yet. (I'm talking seats.) But it looks pretty good so far.

I think I'd rather see a Wildcat logo at midfield vice the "Weber State" in all caps. But overall, it looks like it will be a fairly nice place to play.

Good job!

The track will be finished by the end of July.

But I wonder whats going on on the north and south sides of the stadium where there is still alot of dirt, I wonder if they are planning on putting anything in those spots, maybe permanent concession stands?

A beer garden would be nice

Meh.

The problem (as I see it) with a beer garden (and I'm going to keep my teetotaling ways out of the conversation for the moment) is that, unlike baseball at a small minor league park, it would be difficult to site the thing in such a spot that those who choose to indulge would be able to see the game. The beer garden (also where the specialty food vendors were) at our former Class A park (now used for HS and college summer league games) was along the right field line near the home bullpen, which allowed a great place to watch the game while sitting at tables and drinking the suds. Given the much more linear nature of a single-purpose football stadium, it would be hard to find a place to put it without seriously impinging on space for bleachers or chair-back seating. If done properly, it would be great for folk who can't get back to their group before the end of the intermission. (Who would be dumb enough to make a beer run during play?!?) I just can't see it unless the field is situated in a baseball park, and even then much of the play would be away from the beer garden.

SuperHornet, ODU has a beer garden in our gameday building in one of the endzones. It's a pretty popular area in the stadium and the view is perfectly fine (if not kinda thrilling for its proximity):

Here's some pics of it (upper level are higher donors):

As you can tell, a lot of people are up against the brick enjoying the game...

That's a prob if you got first and goal at the other end.

Seeing it. Especially in the case of bad weather like fog.

How is that any different than endzone seating at ANY stadium?

It's not. I'm just saying it's a prob for someone who has actual seats elsewhere and go to the garden for beer. Unless they're lucky enough for a series to get to the end with the garden, they're screwed until they get back to their "real" seats.

For a majoity of the game I would trade my "real seat" for an endzone seat that allowed me to buy a beer during the game...especially since most stadiums these days have these awesome new things called video boards.

I guess I'm too old school for that, clenz. Of course, I'd rather be on the sideline, but that isn't going to happen under the current Sac regime.

:ohno:

Heck, most games I leave me seat (which is pretty damn good, between the 30 and 35 and 8 rows up) and go stand in one of the endzones in the UNI dome to watch the game.

Granted the concourse at UNI in the endzones is probably 40 feet of the of field...not field level. My view ends up looking something like this

Wasn't even thinking of the video board...definitely another reason the garden works. And anyways SuperHornet, why not have one if it's going be a great additional source of revenue? I mean stadium beer isn't cheap, but it's the only beer you're gonna get inside. As long as people are willing to pay, then there's no reason not to have one.

edit: here's how it looks...

Well, for the beginning of the game (not to mention the end), that's pretty cool, I must admit.

Well as great as it would be, Selling beer on a college campus in Utah is I believe illegal :ohno:

You can drink at the tailgate, but you cannot bring it into the stadium :wall:
