Final Rankings

Is there a final rankings after the championship? Just wondering because if Montana beats Richmond, then Richmond would be 12-4 and JMU would be 12-2. I am not sure who would be #2 and who would be #3 if they did have those rankings out. JMU beat Richmond, won the CAA, and better win/loss, but Richmond advanced to the FCS Championship. I honestly think Richmond will win it all, but I kind of hope they don't. Thoughts.......????

Yes. Montana was #2 last year headed into the playoffs and wound up #10 after losing to Wofford in the first round.

Regarding your thoughts, I think you are trying to hang onto the last thread of CAA superiority you claimed in spite of losing to MT in your house. Montana will come to play in the NC game and it's not their first rodeo.

Well, I am not rooting for Richmond; I am rooting for Montana because I am hoping JMU will be ahead of Richmond in the final rankings. So I was just trying to get some input from you guys if you guys thought if JMU had a shot at being ahead of Richmond in the final rankings if they lose to Montana because of the information I stated in my last post.

I think the final two are gonna be the top 2 in the final rankings. That's usually how it gois anyway. JMU will probably be 3rd and UNI 4th. That's my guess anyway.

Oh ok thanks. I was just wondering since JMU was #1 and Richmond was #7 starting the tournment. I wouldn't think a 12-4 team is better than a 12-2 team that they lost to.

I've seen a lot of arguments both ways in the past on this issue. The voters usually just go the easy route since there isn't a real clear cut way to determine it and they go with who made it the farthest. Who knows what they'll do though. A good case can be made for JMU over Richmond in the scenario you layed out.

I was not for sure that JMU was going to win. I thought they were but not for sure. I hope Montana beats Richmond, because I live in Richmond and plus if Richmond wins that means Richmond is better than JMU and I don't think they are since they beat Richmond and would have a better record than Richmond regardless of a win or a loss.

Does the statement "One thing JMU won't have after this game is an L" ring any bells with you?

I was just talking trash. I was kidding. I thought they were going to win, but it wasn't a for sure win. If you look at my other post, I said I thought Montana had a chance to win.

I am leaving shortly. I graduated from JMU in 07 and right now I am trying to go to law school so I am pretty busy on my studying for the LSATs.
