The NDSU BISON Football Conglomerate announced that Kansas State was on the BISON schedule for 2013. Date hasnt been announced. This is a continuation of NDSU policy to schedule into the Big 12 and the Big 10. These are regional games very good for NDSU and the FBS/BCS opponent. Especially prized are the games against the Charter Members of the larger conferences.

How the hell is Kansas State regional? The two schools are 2.5 states away and over 600 miles.



Why do I continue to get into these kinds of threads?

UNI is 3-0 against national powerhouse, and BIG 12 charter member Kansas State University.

These games are considered regional by the NDSU Football Conglomerate. They are accessible to our fans. I can get to this game in an afternoon.

611 miles from Fargo. Almost all interstate. 8 or 9 hrs. From here its only 500 miles.

This game is in our backyard. Some of you fans from the more regional and less visible, more traditional FCS programs may see this game as an outlier type situation and thats understandable. I wont argue. When you are from a program that has national attention the travel is not a big deal, especially these local, 2 day trips.

I got NDSU by at least 3 TD's. Probably going to be more but NDSU will call off the dogs in the third quarter and play the 3rd string for the rest of the game and Kansas State will probably get a couple of garbage scores late...then again...NDSU is pretty deep and by 2013 their 3rd string will be better than most SEC 1st teams...so they might run up the score on KSU something fierce.

Scheduling this far out is a sign of respect from Kansas State toward NDSU. They wanted the challenge of playing the BISON, who doesnt?, but they didnt want to be rushed into the game unprepared.

Some of the FCS/FBS matchups are cobbled together the winter before the game. That is a sign of disrespect from the FBS. They dont need any time to prepare. Its like scheduling exhibition games from D2 or lower. You are showing disrespect to your league saying in fact that they are no good and your team can get 7 wins even by throwing out a game with a lower division matchup.

Im comfortable with the respect being displayed by Kansas State and their desire for some preparation time. Im sure NDSU will put the time to good use as well.

Is this game a home game for NDSU?

Must be, can't imagine the folks down in Manhattan risking running down the property values by scheduling this juggernaut into Aggieville.

K-State went about ten years in there without winning a game against anybody.

JBB will be the first to tell you, that's only because NDSU sent their D-II dominating team down to Cedar Falls to play a second game each week.
