Guess who's NOT going to Virginia next weekend???

Huggins
Smyth
Toone
Etuiati

I made a statement in a thread either here or that other place and said four things needed to happen for the Griz to win:

1) Chase Reynolds had to have more yards than Trevyn Smyth. Reynolds - 185, Smith - 104.....CHECK
2) Montana had to have fewer than two turnovers and Weber had to have more than two. Montana - 0, Weber - 3....CHECK
3) Montana HAD to cut down on the 7 sacks allowed at the last meeting. This game, I can only remember Berquist being sacked 1 time. CHECK.
4) Montana had to have at least a 32:28 min TOP advantage. Montana - 35:47, Weber - 24:13. CHECK

Four checks means VICTORY for the Griz!!!

I think the thing Weber failed to realize is that THIS was not the same team they played in October. THAT team was a passing team. We morphed into a running team in week 7 and never looked back. Bobby Hauck realized what he had in Reynolds, and has ridden that horse all the way to the semifinals. Nice job shutting down Mariani, Schulte, Ferriter, etc. Nice job holding Berquist to 8-19 passing. Too bad it don't mean shit, huh?

Hope you guys aren't strangers around here now that your season is over...

Congrats to Weber St. for making a good run this year. They deserve all the credit in the world. I was fortunate enough to speak with 4 or 5 of the fans that made the trip up to Wa-Griz for the game. Knowledgeable fans that loved football. They had nothing but good things to say about the tailgates, all the free food and beer they could put down, and generous fans willing to go out of their way to show them a good time.

To all you Weber St. fans out there, stick around and talk some football with the rest of us, and above all, show up for all your home games and get your friends and families to do so as well.

This is where the true fans vs. the bandwagon fans come out...

Weber State fans...stick around...your team made it further than over 100 other FCS schools...that's not chopped chicken-liver, you know...

I am right here,

Supporting your Montana team. because I want the Big Sky to look good.
But as soon as its over, I become a Montana hater again.

I have been to every Weber State home game for 9 years now, I have never seen a more talented Weber State football team ever, and next year we get it all back. I love my Wildcats. And people in my own State laugh at me because I like Weber State, and not Utah, Utah State or BYU. I just tell them that I dont pick a team just because they are good, Weber is the home town team. And I say at least my team can play for a National Title. And that fans from Florida, Alabama, LSU, USC ect. are laughing at you.

I am not going to quit blogging just because my team lost. This is far too entertaining.

I'm glad you're gonna stick around WR but I have a question. Seems like lately all the other Big Sky teams group together and root against us which is fine and all but what I'm wondering is why the dislike. It can't be from the treatment of your fans and so forth when host we are hospitable. So what is it exactly?

If you've been around the boards at all you know that AZGriz uses a flame thrower to light a birthday candle every chance he gets. He will continue the smack that preceded a game after the game is over and this is not really even smack considering he is restating what he posted as keys to the game before it came to fruition. It is more of a self pat on the back. With all of that said and having read much smack from App fans and the CAA fans, Appalachian and Delaware are still teams that I strongly root for. It does not have anything to do with what a handful of fans post. Many of the fans that hate the Griz do not ever even see what is posted on these boards so that doesn't wash.

Sorry man but that Wing T, Tubby Raymond, Darryl Brown and the boys impressed me severely in 1993 and I've been a fan of them ever since. Bluehen86, and Rob Iola have also helped retain my loyalty.

I know a couple of friends that I think are going but flights into DC were like $1150 and I want to see if they can beat you guys and go down to Chatty if they can pull out a win in Harrisonburg. The only NC game that I've missed is the 1996 game so I hope to make it to another one this year.

On offense, yes. Don't you lose 8 starters on defense, though?

They hate the Griz because of success, and, also now that Bobby Hauck posted his chalk talk about the illegal chop blocks that Weber used against us in the last game. Also the one which ended Carson Benders season...no love loss on those coaching staffs..

Yes we do, Utah State also took a couple of our defensive coaches, It will be interesting to see what happens, Weber usually has a good defense, what they have lacked in the past is an offense.

We will see
