TXST Spring (Maroon & Gold) Game

It was hot. Got to low 80's by the end of the game (around 2) but I had headed over to the baseball game (season tickets can't be wasted) with just over 5 left in the last qtr.
The D is looking good but the O needs a lot more work on the new playbook.
Our Soph QB (Arndt) wore a green shirt because he is not fully back from the ACL injury from October, so no contact.
Coach kept the plays simple and that also helped the D. He stated they weren't going to show a lot of the playbook due to other teams possibly having scouts amongst the crowd.
ESPN radio did a show @ tailgating and interviewed the coach for 30 minutes prior. Had somewhere in the area of 4000 show up. Pretty good for us with everything else going on around the area and UT & A&M having their games the same day. Free pizza could be had if you got there early enough. Lots of free hand-outs and some new cool tee shirts and hats that I couldn't afford to buy.
A small part of the band and our student cheer/spirit group showed up. Something new at TXST spring games. Never had the band there before. (from what I am told)
It was a full on "game" situation. (I think A&M starts continually from the 20 and their game ended up something like 133-113). Four 10 minute quarters with a 15 minute half time. We actually had a pre-game draft (held Wednesday) with team captains running the show...and a trade dead-line of 24 hours.
There's a new atmosphere and excitement exuding from the team. Time will tell if the new staff can get it done for us.
Final 16-9 Gold team
It was a nice way to spend the early afternoon.
(Had 8 guys sitting out with injuries)
