Just heard from Travelle Gaines that Taiwan Jones timed in the 4.27-4.35 range on all stopwatches.

About 50 NFL scouts, coaches, and executives (including 18 running backs coaches) were at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, California to watch one private workout. And if you don't follow FCS football closely, you may not even know the name of the player they came to watch.
After serious work and rehab at Athletes Performance in Carson, California (a bit of which we caught on tape recently), Jones flew up to the Bay Area and put on a major show in front of what San Francisco 49ers running backs coach Tom Rathman told one observer was the biggest NFL attendance for a private workout he had ever seen. API's Travelle Gaines told Yahoo! Sports that Jones ran one 40 and times in the range of 4.27 to 4.35 on all stopwatches. We'll get the official times later today and pass them along (as well as an interview with Mr. Jones), but this could really push Jones up quite a few draft boards. Currently seen as a third- to fifth-round prospect, Jones may jump up a bit higher based on today.
Jones also put up a 39.5-inch vertical leap (which would have been third among running backs at the combine), and an 11-foot broad jump, which would have been second overall at the combine behind Alabama receiver Julio Jones, who was universally acknowledged as the star of the 2011 event.

He likely locked himself into the second round with his performance today.

Nice! He did pretty damn well!
Sooooooo glad he's not gonna be at EWU next year. The dude single handedly beat us last year.

Not possible. The experts on Bisonville have judged him to not be very fast. Bill Fette must have been keeping time.
This doesn't count.

Upon further review, the ruling on the field stands. Taiwan Jones is very fast, Bisonville is very slow.

I was impressed with his speed, especially how he accelerated toward the sidelines after taking a few monster truck hits. But what impressed me most was the statement in the article that EWU went on to win the national championship WITHOUT him. Thats the most revealing statement in the article.

Too bad one of your slow lineman stepped on his foot or we could have watched him sprint up to the press box and hand Bill Fette the game ball.

Most of us were just as surprised as everyone else.

He deserved it so here it is bill:
Thanks, I did all I could
All kidding aside I read he is expected to go in the second or third round and will probably be used as a role player or return guy.

Could also see him being used in the slot. I'm hoping he'll be more than a role-player type guy, although I agree he's not a every down back. He's wasn't that type back at the FCS level, so no reason to think that's going to change, although I could see him being used as part of a 1-2 combo.

Has a nice write up, and video with footage from his workout and interview. Ridiculous how fast he accelerates.

Seems like a humble fella with a real good attitude. l Iike how he worked hard to get back into sterling shape for his workout and made no excuses.
Really pulling for the guy.

looks like he had a great work out with a lot of people there watching as well! lots of talk about Jones by a lot of different nfl teams. hope Seattle can land him but something tells me its going to be the Raiders, which would not be bad at all for him since he is from the area there.

I just now saw this thread but posted his official results in another thread. He had a good workout. I think he'll be even better in a couple months once he has had more time to workout. Great workout and looks like he won't fall out of the top 100 with a shot to go in the top 50.
