It has started.

After the turf is removed, the field will be leveled and the "crown" will be no more. The track will be re-paved, the high jump area moved to the endzone in the pic above (so temp seating can be put there) and then the new turf will be laid down in June/July.

What's with the crown removal? I thought that was a drainage feature? I'm not sure I get moving the high jump pit to an area that they'll be putting temp seating on top of either, but then again they didn't consult me on this. At least it's a GREEN field.

Not a big fan of the script "Mountaineers" on the sidelines, but I like the alternating dark/light green. I wish they would keep digging down, extend the seating, NOT paint field hockey lines, and get rid of the track but that another 8 threads.

Now take that polo or lacrosse lines off the field too, that shit make the rock look like sht. The best renovation KBS could do is add ROOS-LIKE endzone seating. trust me boys, Roos is ahead of the game with that move!

All non-football lines will be gone. Also, the steeplechase pit is being moved to "Bobby's endzone" to allow for seating in the north endzone. The high jump and throwing areas will remain in the south endzone (at least this is how I have understood it).

The crown is being removed because field turf has advanced to the point that it is no longer necessary. From what I've been told, it wasn't really necessary with the most recent turf, but the previous admin didn't want to spend the cash to remove it. It was a must-have with the old "astro-turf" turf that we had before.

HAHA, yeah that was me. I like your design much better Willie. I did hear some interesting info today--Jerry Moore designed the new turf that's being installed.

Other than the scribble on the sidelines, the original looks ok. Wonder why they didn't want to go with black end zones, though.

Looking nice - they put down nearly half the field since 8AM. Looks like one end zone was finished in the last hour or so. I'm liking the dark/light contrast, but still don't care for what they'll do to the sidelines and endzone.

Everything was looking good until they rolled out the sidelines. Sure hope the turf company made a big mistake because I can't imagine anyone in their right mind would approve the use of that hideous yeller. Especially with the nice looking gold used for the goal lines. This is the type of idiocy I'd expect from Roachel Laney.
