SacBuzz is reporting that a crazy cross-country game has been inked: Presby vs. Cal at AT&T Park (next to NO parking) 17 SEP 2011. The mod who reported it (one of the best guys on the board) says that Presby will STILL be on probation and therefore will not help Cal get to a bowl game.

Is this true? Normally, my mod is to be believed about EVERYTHING, but it seems to me that Presby has been in the Big South for a while now. Is the transition still going?

I noticed that too. And unless I am mistaken, Cal is playing all of their games at AT&T due to the Memorial Stadium retrofit.

I forget what pier it is, but I recall attending a Giants game a few years back and we were at "The High Dive". This location has/had a free shuttle from the pier (which we parked at) to AT&T. I remember this setup because the bar had Makers Mark and Patron on tap. Yes, on tap. It was a pretty sloppy day.

Ah. I'd forgotten about that. Which is unfortunate given that I was at a Cal-UCLA girls hoops game helping some cheer friends about a month or so ago. D'OH!!!

But that doesn't answer my main question: is Presby still on D-I transition probation?

Yeah, I heard about this a few weeks ago. Presby's Athletics Department was happy to announce it, but Cal didn't say a word.

Cal's schedule shows that week as "TBD". I have a feeling that game will get bought out.

Presby is finally eligible for postseason this year, thus should be a full "counter".

The Cal-Colorado game hasn't been signed yet, thus the 2 TBD dates on Cal schedule.

It may be that Colorado doesn't really want a 13th game (allowable as they are at Hawaii first weekend).
Still possible that the Cal-Presby game could be moved a week ahead.

I didn't know Presby had womens cross country.

I think Presby. had an issue with some D-2 to D-1 "transitional plan" paperwork last year, and the NCAA extended their transition period by 12 months. They won't be eligible now for any Big South Championships until the Fall of 2012. I found a story on ESPN.com via "google" a while ago, don't have that URL handy.
