It was a year with a lot of ups and downs for the NDSU BISON. From my perspective it started on a high note with a big win over The Kansas Jayhawks. This is a feather in the cap for the NDSU Program and contributes to the legend of NDSU Football. It was a huge win by any standard and certainly won the admiration of the entire division, not just the MVFC.

The win over Robert Morris was second for me. It was a small crowd by NDSU standards, pushing just 13,000*, but it was a magical evening at the Fabulous Fargo Dome.

It was full-on winter. The tailgate begain in the light of day and ended in the pitch black of night. Grills were burning as the camps stood around them like fires. The Prestigious football venue was bathed in light. There was cheering and hollering. Finally as everyone filed in there was a light fog creating an eerie feeling. Everyone was jubilant. Inside it was nearly out of control. Outside it was cold and snowy. The crowds energy filled the place and the BISON played a great game in what was a rather routine win without the hoopla of the playoffs.

I thought about the win at Montana State but came to the conclusion that it was a routine road win even though the stakes were high and the opponent well respected. The game was well played by both teams and certainly the ground crew officiating the game was top notched. Good BISON crowd in a great stadium created an exciting atmosphere for the second round national playoff game.

Personally, I think it was the goal-line fumble in OT of the quarterfinals. Takes a special kind of talent to be so clutch.


Oh, and you forgot the pee in JBB's mom's butt option.

My vote would go to the last minute come-from-behind win at Youngstown State. YSU had a huge 4th quarter to take the lead very late, and after a pathetic kick off and penalty, a hail mary won it for NDSU and eventually sent them to the playoffs.

The YSU game was exciting. A last second win like that really jacked up the NDSU fans. YSU had an incredible string of losses similar to that-JBB

The YSU game is what the BISON fans like to call a "foundation game". Big win that opened doors for NDSU, not like the Jayhawks game of course, but similar. It didnt rise to the level of the Jayhawks game because of the stature of the Jayhawks program, their membership in Big 12 and NDSUs huge underdog factor. NDSU was a big underdog but persevered impressing the entire FCS world and winning admiration for the NDSU program everywhere. As a foundation game the YSU game was important but lacked the celebration of the three wins mentioned.

All joking aside, NDSU has established itself as the "team-to-beat" in the MVFC. This gives all NDSU fans an extra responsibility to not "put-on-airs". As a fan of one of the top programs in the FCS, and one that certainly won the respect of all FCS fans with the victory over the Kansas Jayhawks, I'm really looking forward to next year. Its a chance for every team in the MVFC to compete with the best.

This year was sure filled with excitement, but Im sticking with my feeling that the win over Kansas was the top moment in 2010.

One of the close ones that didnt make the list for me was the last game of the year at Missouri State. That was a hard nosed game. I thought WIU and MSU were among the best MVFC teams NDSU played on any given Saturday.

UNI still won the conference, beat NDSU, and returns more players than any other team in the conference.


NDSU MIGHT break .500 in the conference this year though.

That reminds me of how the ndsu players tried to outsmart the UNI players last year, and gave up 11 sacks and -40 rushing yards to the Panthers.

A - UNI has beaten FBS teams from the B12 as well
B - UNI didn't use a role out game against any body this year.
C - Your smart football team got absolutly crushed by our "dumb" team
D - Your football team hasn't beaten UNI since you moved up to D1
E - UNI has 15 conference titles in D1, something NDSU doesn't have 1 of...and has never been close too
F - Pee Wee Herman is a disgusting human being that deserves to be chemically catrated
G - You have never once out physicaled UNI. Go back and watch the games played. UNI has completely controlled every single one of them.
