Looks like a terrific class. Some great talent at a variety of positions and both Demetrius Bronson (rb) and Andru Pulu (de) transfer over from the huskies.
Despite Late Start, Eagles See Silver Lining as They Sign 20 to Letters of Intent
Eagles also add pair of UW transfers, while adding depth to the offensive line and finding "true football players" was the emphasis in recruiting high school players
The late start to recruiting wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Eastern Washington University's trek to the NCAA Division I Football Championship delayed its bulk of recruiting for about a month, but Eastern head coach Beau Baldwin was reminded of the silver lining to having its last two games of the season broadcast live on ESPN2. The Eagles won the title with a 20-19 victory over Delaware on Jan. 7 in Frisco, Texas.
"A fellow coach and I were talking about how other schools had recruits who had been home-visited and they saw them in school, but we hadn't even been out there," Baldwin explained of the late start. "He said, 'well, you've had two-straight home visits on ESPN2, so you are in some homes.' We felt late getting out, but it was good to be late."
On Wednesday (Feb. 2), Eastern's late start yielded a quality group of 20 high school players who signed letters of intent to attend EWU and play for the Eagles next fall.
Included is Vernon Adams, a quarterback from Pasadena, Calif., and Alemany High School. In his final two seasons, he passed for 5,234 yards and 49 touchdowns, and rushed for another 1,263 yards and 19 more scores in leading Alemany to an overall record of 22-5. Local product Jordan Tonani signed as a defensive back after helping Ferris High School in Spokane, Wash., finish unbeaten and win the State 4A title last fall.
Eastern also has added a pair of University of Washington transfers -- running back Demitrius Bronson and Andru Pulu -- who both played for the Huskies in 2009. Pulu is already attending EWU, and Bronson has signed a financial aid agreement and will attend EWU in the spring quarter.

Kalm, you've got the thread title all wrong. It should be "2011 National Champions' Recruiting Class." Fix it.
I think we did a hell of a job considering a our abbreviated recruiting period. 3-star MLB/FB in Cody McCarthy... asked to walk on at Boise State, but said no, I want red turf baby! Hey Big Sky... remember Aaron Boyce? Yep, Jason is his brother. Some hogs on both lines... David Delgado (Double D, Double Destruction?) 6-3, 320. Should get some nice instruction from Kninety-eight the Knife, Renard Williams.

SE, Kalm, etc.: Does this class look to you like the title aided recruiting, or are these for the most part guys you would have snagged anyway?
I've always been of the thought that winning titles helps future recruiting, but it would be good to know if that is true.
Everyone else with a title this decade: Did you see an uptick in recruit quality/quantity in the recruiting class immediately following the title?

The title does help. There are a few guys in this class that were on the fence that we swayed over. TE TJ Boatright was giving PSU a good look, but chose EWU.
The 6′5″ 225 Tight End had narrowed his choices down to Eastern Washington and Portland State, and decided to go with Eastern.
“My visit to Eastern was great,” said Boatright. “I loved all the people and the coaches.”
The fact that the Eagles just defeated Delaware 20-19 earlier this month to win the Division 1-AA National Championship played a part as well.
“It’s hard to pass up the National Champions,” he added.
EDIT: Just went and double checked, Vernon Adams (QB) had committed to PSU, but changed his mind at the last minute. So that's two we took away from PSU because of the NC. Suck it Jalmond!

Sure it helps, but we have several other advantages attached to this coaching staff: our track record with QB's the last two who at least made it into NFL camps, Payton Awards, two Buchanon Award winners in the last three years, all star NFL lineman, TJ leaving early... red turf.

He helped. More EWU players were on the Shock roster than TSU players though.

Raul Vijil has been with the Shock since they've been a team, and had a part in all three National Championships. Markee White got a chance to shine because Vijil went down halfway through the season. White is a great player though, and TALL!

Nice haul, Eagles!
Five of your recruits earned two or more stars from espn recruiting site.
