CAA Title on the lines this weekend

#12 William & Mary vs. #1 James Madison
If James Madison wins, then JMU gets the CAA Title.
If William & Mary wins out, then W&M gets the automatic bid into the playoffs. I don't see W&M getting the title since they got Richmond after JMU. Too bad this game isn't on comcast or espn since this game will probably decide the winner of the toughest conference in FCS.

Man that would be something if W&M were to win both of those games. I would be willing to bet you could find a broadcast on channelsurfing.net if it is broadcast locally at all. Welcome to the board man.

Thanks I figured I had to get on this board since I didn't see any love for my Dukes.

I don't remember the last time James Madison has had a home playoff game. I think it might have been 1995.

True dat homey. I was just saying yesterday on another thread that the board is becoming more well rounded for football discussion with teams represented from across the country so your effort is appreciated.

So assuming Montana wins out, who do you hope they play in the first round of the playoffs?

I would love to see us get a team that we've never played before but that won't happen. I imagine it will be structured so that we will get a SLC team or Cal Poly (who is almost a conference mate at this point). I wouldn't mind seeing Wofford again, Elon, Villanova, William & Mary, SC State or really anyone else. We have played the SLC teams, SIU, UNI and so forth so many times that I would just like to see some other teams in person for a change.

Villanova is a real tough team. They will hold onto the ball for forever. SC state would be good and the others I think will be good as well. I am not too high on Wofford or Elon.

Yeah I usually watch a lot of CAA ball on CN8 when I can catch on weekends when the Griz are on the road but I have not seen Villanova play this year. I don't care how tough the team is as if we're gonna make a run we're gonna hit the best team somewhere along the line anyway.

True, I would just want my team to face the easiest road possible to the championship.

Yeah but it's always tough to tell which road is the easy one with so many tough teams in the field, and the matchups that are present on each side of the bracket. If you win a championship in this field there is no easy road to get there. That being said I would not want to have to face Cal Poly, then Villanova, then App. State, just to get to a game with JMU but no matter what the course it is always a tough one.

I am with Ursus. I would like to see new teams. Wofford was great, despite the loss, becuase it was a new team that Montana had not faced. I do get tired of the McNeese's and Cal Poly's of the worlk in the playoffs (no offense) I just like seeing different teams that the usual "Western" teams. If Mcneese or Northwestern St can get on a plane than so can SC State or vice vera.

I'm not sure a lot of the Eastern teams know where the nearest airport is, putter.

Villanova has gotten even tougher as the season has progressed. Their defense has the speed and strength to halt an opponents' running game and their rushing offense manages to keep possession of the ball and knock a lot of time off the clock. As good as JMU is, Nova should've won that game. :x If you want to see them play and don't get CN8, I think you can watch the game from their website - or there is a link to where you can watch it on the web.

I would love to see Nova get another shot at JMU in the playoffs - or possibly in the championship.

I did see the highlights of that JMU/Nova game. Both theams look real solid and I can't believe that hail mary got in there.

That's why you play until the last whistle blows. A lot of teams will want to get redemption against JMU in the playoffs like App. St., Richmond, and Villanova. JMU beat the last two at their stadium. It will be even tougher to beat JMU at home where they are 17-1 in their last 18 home games.
