FBS games for 2011

Who ya have on your schedule for FBS and what do you think your chances are of pulling out a W?? Bison play the Gophers and I like our chances to get a W, but not quite as much since they hired Jerry Kill. I really think he will improve that team instantly. If Brewster was still coaching I would really like our chances. While we have a decent chance of getting the W, it will still take a very good mistake free game for us to get the win. 2012 the Bison have Colorado St. on the schedule.

Virginia Tech, and I'd give us slightly better than a snowball's chance in hell. :ohno:

Texas Tech and Wyoming, back to back. Not a chance in hell.

Don't know much about the Cats, but Wyoming is no powerhouse by no means. I would think you could compete with the cowboys. NDSU should have had them a few years ago, we were up 10-0 at the half and ended up losing 13-10 I believe....choked!

That's probably one of the reasons that he's predicting what he is. It's incredibly hard to catch a team like that off guard two years in a row. But they'll have a new QB, so you never know...

JMU is supposed to play UNC, but the date we had scheduled has now been filled by UNC to play Louisville. The last word was that they are trying to work it out, but that would leave our open date as the first weekend of the season for the second time in two years and I really hope we're not going to do that.

Open the season against U-dub at Husky Stadium. They lose Locker and would have finished middle of the pack in the CAA which means we've probably got no chance.

Clemson. I'm optimistic, but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost by 20. I'd have eternal bragging rights if we win

Sac State @ Oregon State. Jacquizz Rodgers just declared for the NFL draft but I don’t think that will matter. As in all of our Pac-10 BCS money games, I will be hoping to avoid a shutout and avoid major injuries. Last year at Stanford we avoided the shutout but lost our starting QB for almost all of the season and a starting DE for possibly his career. :|

Montana at Tennessee, season opener (for the Griz, at least). Jordan Johnson's trial by fire (unless a transfer drops into our lap between now and then).

Actually we may play Iowa St. in 2012 and Colorado St. in 2013, not sure.

I take it Jordan Johnson is the new QB? Thats a hell of a first start! I am thinking his eyes might just be a little big on that day.

Presumably. He was the big recruit Pflu brought in last year. 6A player of the year in Oregon his senior year running an offense similar to what Pflu would like to get going at UM. But, Pflu rather inexplicably burned his redshirt this year and then Johnson hardly ever played...would go in for a series or two, hand off a few times and maybe throw a few short passes, so he's still an unknown. After the season, Pflu said that he'd like to bring in at least one QB recruit (UM has a verbal from a kid from Hawaii) and one drop down to create some competition, but Johnson would seem to have the upper hand since he's been in the system for a year. The Griz also have Gerald Kemp, who'll be a junior and was recruited by Hauck as a QB, but he switched to RB this past season and Pflu apparently wants to keep him there (this, along with pretty much everything else, is a bone of contention on egriz).

Bucs tangle with Florida State and Central Florida on back to back weeks. Luckily we have a bye to heal up because we are going to need it after those two games.

The Tribe opens at Virginia. The cavaliers will be motivated not to lose to us twice in three years. But the chances of a Tribe win are not zero.

We lose a ton of talent next season also - the core is still there (Quick, Presley, Legree, and Cadet) but a lot of supporting cast will start next season. It's like a box of chocolates right now.

Even more important than the game itself.... The Griz v Vols game could be something really interesting with these on ;)

That's pretty cool. Some decent match-ups there too. Could be some potential upsets. :thumb:
