Final Rendering for the North End Zone
Construction Starts in May 2011, after the T&F stadium is built.
They've put an 11 month timeframe on it.

And no, they can not lower the field because water tables of the San Marcos River and the Edwards Aquifer are too high.

Can't wait. Track will be removed and I like the addition of jumbotrons.

Does Texas State go FBS in 2011 or 2012?

2012
2011 we will be categorized as FCS Independent and will count for everyone towards their overall record. Not eligible for conference or playoffs as we will add 11 schollies.

So yall will still be playing a Southland schedule in '11? How many years before you are bowl eligable in the FBS?

You'll still have the sideline margins from the old track, right? That's the only downside IMHO - it would be nice to get the fans a little closer to the field, but beautiful design aside from that. I wish App would find a way to get us closer to the field without spending millions in excavation, but we don't exactly have an abundance of flat land for a separate track without going well away from campus. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

After Texas St San Marcos moves to the FBS, how soon will it be until a Texas St San Marcos QB transfers to a CAA school?

Possibly almost immediately

I think 2013 but am not positive.
Course, that assumes we actually win 6 games

The design looks great. Having been to games at Bobcat many, many times over the years it is cool to see that original nice but scant design "accessorized" in such nice fashion.

They're starting next week by tearing out the old visitor's locker room, moving the scoreboard and tearing up the track - YES!
I'll be trying to get some real time pictures when Baseball season starts (and it's warm enough to actually attend a game)

Goods news. Can't wait to lose the track and close in the end zone. It will lose that high school stadium look.

Texas State has a gay upgrade plan bro. There stadium was already the most ADVANCE for a stadium with a track.
First things first *LOWER THE FIELD* bring in 12~ more stands.
Next, extend the CURRENT lower deck seats around to the non building endzone. =bowl w/2 decks!
theres your entry level FBS stadium morons!

Based on EWU's basketball arena, this should have been EWU's plan bc this is wat Reece court looks like.
3story press & suite facility? Good idea!
Extending that bottom row half way? Bad idea son!

I think this is Bobcat Stadium upgrade phase 1B
Additional construction....If/when called for:
bowl in south EZ to "connect" EZC with stadium proper, on both sides
3rd Deck to East side (with add'l suites)
This may get a little dicey. Our staunchest (and one of the richest) alum supporters, who forked over the money for the West side completion and had it named after him, has announced he has resigned from the "University Improvement Project"
No reason given and not good news.

I wish they would lower the field but won't. Due to the high ground water level, the cost to lower the field and remain in code is too high. The school may do it off in the future but it appears it won't happen anytime soon.

Yeah it sucks they resigned. I hope it just means they don;t have interest in running the committee but are still interested in donating. Maybe the didn't agree with the direction of the committee or maybe they wanted more control.

That will be removed and filled in with the DuraSpine Pro. They already have it stored from when the field turf was replaced last year.
