The team kicking ass early lost the National Championship game.

We know how you feel, Delaware.

I didn't get the chance to watch that game last night, but when I finally DID see the highlights on ESPN and saw that they were down 19-0 in the 3rd, i thought the EXACT same thing, 22.

It should have been more than 12-0 at the half and it wasn't.

A missed EP, two drives that ended in FG's and not trying to move downfield at the end of the first half allowed EWU to stay in the game.

The end of the first half really bothered meat the time. EWU punted UD to the 10 yard line and I think Keeler just wanted to get to the locker room, but then UD made to 10 yard runs to get the ball to about the 30. With 30 seconds, 2 timeouts and an opponent on the ropes I thought UD should have tried to get another FG. Instead Keeler just let the clock run out.

There is a reason the EWU was 12-2 (now 13-2), it's because they are a good team and they don't give up. I think UD thought the game was over and it wasn't.

Same thing last year, 86. Griz should have had more points in the first half, but let points slip away. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I think the killer was the failure to punch it in the endzone in the 1st half when UD had it on the EWU 5. I don't think the missed extra point means a lot. As AZ pointed out in another thread, had they made it, EWU would not have gone for 2 and the final would have been 21-20 instead of 20-19.

UD really squandered it. They dominated for 2 and a half quarters and failed to deliver the knockout blow. They looked content and couldn't keep up the intensity for 60 minutes. They still played great but just came up short. Both EWU and UD had great seasons. No reason anyone should be hanging their head imo.
