Some time after the game, Bolden, a heralded recruit who played his high school ball in Orchard Lake, Mich., informed Penn State quarterbacks coach Jay Paterno that he intended to transfer out of the program, the Harrisburg Patriot-News reported. It is a decision endorsed by Bolden's father.

What a fucking pussy. The QB in front of you is awful. Beat him out in the offseason like you did last year.

...or just take the easy way out.

Classic case of "this isn't fair!" and "my kid should be starting!".

What a pussy kid, and a douchebag dad.

There's a lot more to it than that. You have no idea what you are talking about, as usual.

This guy looks like a perfect fit for JMU.

That isn't even remotely the case.

I think there is a distinct posibility, given the number of QB transfers the last few years, that Joe Pa's boy Jay might not be too popular with the kids he coaches.

You may be right. I think it's going to take two things for Penn State to become relevant again:

1. Joe dies/retires.
2. Jay is exposed as head coach, gets fired, and Penn State cleans house and brings in new blood

Hopefully this all takes less than ten years (not wishing death on Joe - I like Joe).

I don't have any actuarial tables in front of me, but it's a pretty good bet that Joe dies relatively soon. He might eventually have to retire, but he'll hang on as long as he can.

Jay will never be the head coach at Penn State. Never.

Good.

I don't even pretend to follow Penn State religiously, so if you have more familiarity with the situation I'm glad to hear this.

The sooner they can bring in a great football mind, the better. Poor old Joe just went and got old on us. Should have retired in the late 90s.

Their other QB, Kevin Newsome, is also transferring. Newsome is a 757 guy and ODU just lost one of their QBs.

Just sayin'...

Right-- Jay will never be the head coach. It also looks like nobody on the Penn State staff will be the next HC as Tom Bradley is interviewing for every head coach job on the east coast. I think the staff knows Joe will be done after next year and the coaches who are under 60 are starting to look around.

Bolden, on the other hand thinks he desreves to start even though he played like crap all year. He won the competition in camp, but played awful in games all year. All accounts indicate that fellow freshman and 5 star recruit Paul Jones has emerged as the best QB, and is playing much better than Bolden in practice. He didn't play in the bowl game because he is taking a redshirt this year. Basicallyt Bolden realized that Paul Jones is better than him and he wants to leave.

Had YSU been mentioned once you would have had a thread started on it talking about how YSU is now unstoppable and will win three straight titles with him, blah, blah, blah, blah.
