Congrats ODU

That was a pretty good run by ODU's mascot. Nice work, way to represent FCS.

Plus ODU gets $20,000 for our mascot. That's a lot of money that the athletic department could use towards something else instead of our mascot when we need a new one.

The school did an amazing job promoting this competition on campus. They probably spent a few thousand, but it was a wise investment. Hell, we even beat those damn Oregon fans and their stupid duck in the semi-finals (final vote count in that one was 773,616 to 714,578 ). To put that in perspective, Oregon had 792,130 and ODU had 1,004,220 votes over the course of the whole 12 game regular season.

Also...it would've never happened if we didn't add football!

Monte won that a couple of times and it is a cool little side thing cuz ESPN used the mascots in some commercials and so forth so you guys may get more pub out of it as well.

I remember the ODU/MT fight in the regular season got the most votes out of any matchup.

He's in it almost every year since it started, i think people here just got tired of it. Not to mention Monte hasn't been the same since Barry graduated.
