In 2012. Reason I put this on this board is the current JMU prez has said something along the lines of JMU likely wouldn't make the move up under while he was at JMU.
Interesting since the moratorium on moving up ends in 2013.

The stars are aligning for JMU to move up........
If they can somehow cobble together the rumored new FBS conference (I've added in UMass, Temple and Charlotte)..........
UMass
Temple
Delaware
JMU
Marshall
ODU
Appalachian State
Charlotte
East Carolina

There are rumors that Towson's president is in the final running for the UMass job. If he doesn't get it and stays at Towson, don't think for a second Towson doesn't want in on that conference. Towson plans to be @30K in 5-10 years.
FWIW, this is just what I have been told. I do not like it.

Well, it is true that every conference needs a cupcake Andy.

That would be one helluva fun conference, even if you never had a chance to win a national championship. ECU wants no parts of this rumored conference, btw. I say let them cling to their C-USA and put GaSou in there:

I think it is safe to say that Liberty has done everything it could to be in the mix for any new league. And the $120M bond sale this week only helps assure the progress continuing from an upgrade perspective.
