Playoffs

WIU 14-42 APP
NOVA 54-24 SFA
SEMO 17-37 EWU
NDSU 42-17 MTST
LEH 20-42 UD
UNH 45-20 BCOOK
WOFF 17-14 JAXST
GASO 31-15 W&M

  • Best Performance: Georgia Southern 31, (#2) William & Mary 15 - Eagles rack up 423 rushing yards & average 7.2 ypc against one of the nation's top defenses.

Worst Performance: Stephen F. Austin 24, Villanova 54 - The Lumberjacks surge to an early lead thanks to three 1-yard TD runs by Keith Lawson in the first quarter, but then commit 6 turnovers in folding like a bully from an after-school special. SFA has been outscored 105-24 in their last 2 playoff games & one wonders if they will make it back anytime soon with Jeremy Moses departing.

Most Surprising Result: (#4) Montana St. 17, North Dakota St. 42 - This game again wasn't as lopsided as the final score & the Bobcat defense has been a lingering issue all season, but I don't think anyone expected a Bison team with no passing game to run for 376 yards and average 8.2 ypc in Bozeman.

Two games have surprised be thus far in the playoffs: Lehigh beating UNI and NDSU putting on that performance at Montana State.
