Only a few over 13,300 bothered to show up today. Many who did bolted at the half and a lot more cleared out bigtime in the 3rd quarter. Sad. Very, very sad. DeAndre called out the fans on post game. Said he was disappointed in the crowd when the team went out for warm ups, but thought everyone was just trying to keep warm until the game started. He was really disappointed when they took the field for the game. Good for you DeAndre!!

Montana and Appalachian State have the best fans in the FCS, and rank up there with the big time schools.

That sucks to hear. But hopefully it's just a one-time thing. I'm sure you guys will have more next week vs. Nova, especially since they are the defending champs.

I think that Villanova fans, per capita, are the best in the business. It's the loudest 2,600 people you'll ever hear in a quarterfinal. The pent up affluent, suburban aggression shows through up there on the Main Line.

I was there, and the conditions were not favorable to a large crowd. DP and the players work hard, so I can understand their disappointment. But, I drove up from Charlotte where it was snowing when I left, got to Boone and it had been snowing for a while. The drive home wasn't all that great either, though pretty clear once off the mountain. Saw quite a few cars sliding, a van stuck on 421, and heard a tanker wrecked on 221.
It reminded me of the Southern Illinois game (why do Illinois teams bring shitty weather to Boone?). It's tough to expect people to drive hours to get there with these conditions, especially in an area not used to such weather, during Holiday planning. I was fine driving having lived in Boone and Michigan, but I doubt many other southerners have that kind of snow experience. Just my
Oh, and bad form on posting this kind of crap here. If you're going to post stuff like this, it should be on the MMB.

Lighten up Francis! Heard all week how App was gonna bring the house with 29K, but that 29K turned out to be 13K with two turds in their pockets.
Horrible showing by the #1 attendance school in FCS.
Horrible.
Apparently the snow clearing team decided to sleep in today as well.

You telling someone to lighten up is hilarious.
Where did you hear this from? Anyone with knowledge of FCS playoff games before 2010 knows attendance generally drops everywhere in the playoffs, and Appalachian is no different. The real "horrible showing" is the attendance at the current National Champions' home games (like the semis last year). But, why would I care? Nova is not my school.
BTW, there were 13,300 more people in attendance at KBS today than at Wa-Griz.

Still the highest-attended playoff game this year if I'm not mistaken. Not bad considering awful weather. I wouldn't want to be driving around Boone with the roads frozen over.

How many attended UD's game today?
Can't wait 'til we host our first ever playoff game. Probably won't be for a few seasons though...being patient sucks.

Ohhh good one! You got me on the Griz not making the playoffs this year! Shear Genius!
Good Lord, my 3 year old daughter can come up with better than that, and she is limited to, "No, you are the poopy head".
Admit it. All the blather about THE ROCK being the place to be didn't pan out. You guys were at less than 50% attendance.
In all honesty, I don't really care, just flipping shit to the guys that were trashing everyone else because they didn't have 29,000...er, I mean 13,300.
Lame.
By the way MSU had 14,277 with 9 degree weather. Talk about fair weather App fans.
Oh yeah, here is a little vid of the last time we played. You had about the same amount of fans for this one as well. I made the 500 mile drive to attend.
Lastly, your TE has a fat ass too.

Actually I just looked it up, and the official attendance for UD's game was 13,649 while Appy's was 13,322.
Also nice win by your basketball team tonight...ya bastards.

There are rumblings that the Big East might be looking at us for our basketball team. Try to keep that quiet. I don't want it going viral during the exploratory phase.

And you have a picture of freaking spongebob squarepants and a fish.
I play a sport for my school and I don't see how having a picture with my dad after a game has anything do with what we are talking about.

No. Never. Just thought I would hang out on a board about college football because I couldn't afford the subscription to the NY Times.
And for what it is worth, Junior, that picture of Spongebob is the infamous SeaBear episode. Seattle Griz = Sea Bear. I know it is a leap for those that have no humor, but really try man! Really try.
Welcome to the board rookie!

My attempt at humor was lost on you, imagine that. You crack me up dude, seriously. BTW, you didn't answer the question, where did you hear all App fans saying there would be 29,000 at the Rock yesterday?
Remember, again I posted reasons why not many fans showed up. Don't like the reasons, that's your issue. But, I applaud you following through with the need to respond to my post that had nothing to do with you.

Um, you mentioned being on a message board. You are correct sir, and being on a message board I was simply providing reasons why there were fewer fans at the App game (I was there and freezing my boys off) in response to a fellow App poster on a thread about App State.
If anyone needs to "get a life" it would be you. You felt the need to chime in, so I hope you got what you were looking for. But, whatever you need to believe...I hope you feel better man, no reason to get all pissy on a beautiful Sunday morning. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, hopefully next weekend will have less wintry weather in the High Country and we can back up the mythical "blathering" of attendance.
