Just heard this from a co-worker, and several bcnation posters. Since eGriz has been blocked by the MSU grads here (again), I'm going to have to use you guys as a proxy. Anyone know if there is anything to this rumor? PM PlayerRep if you have to!

That is one fucked up family of QB's.
Forcier's oldest brother, Jason, redshirted in 2005, and was the backup quarterback behind Chad Henne in 2006 at Michigan before transferring in May 2007 to play for Stanford during the 2008 season. Jason, a graduate student at the time of his youngest brother's Michigan enrollment, was Tate's first year roommate. Tate's other brother, Chris, transferred from UCLA to Furman University in 2009 after Rick Neuheisel took over as head coach at UCLA and recruited Kevin Craft to be his starting quarterback. Chris had run the UCLA scout team as a redshirt, but lost the starting quarterback battle.[
Given this history, it wouldn't surprise me in the LEAST that he would transfer SOMEWHERE.... :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I think it may be a bunch of QBs with a fucked up father, but from everything I have heard the one that is at Furman fit in well, got along with the other players and was expected to and was contributing until he broke his shoulder in the South Carolina game.

Probably shouldn't say fucked up father but he is a little to much of a promoter of the sons

Yeah these guys are something else. They pulled the same thing here in SoCal when they were in high school, jumping from school to school until they found a place that would let them have it their way. It looks like the Forcier trend has continued in the college level as well. :ohno:

Forcier to Delaware has also been rumored as has Savage from Rutgers & Brantley from Florida.

Our strict no-transfer policy at the QB position since KC took over probably makes that a non-starter.

Joking aside, I think (and BHBK and the rest of the Hens fans might agree) this may be the offseason where you see Delaware eschew the transfer QB. We now have a guy, in Sasek, that has regular season experience and success against ranked teams, another multi-year backup in Donnelly, and a young gun recruit from Georgia in Burns. Unless a Devlin/Flacco caliber guy comes begging I don't think we return any calls.

Agreed - I think we go with Sasek/Burns next year unless there's a guy to quote Michael Corleone "gives us an offer we can't refuse".

FWIW Forcier was the only player on the Michigan roster that did not meet UM standards (probably grades) and was sent home from the bowl game as soon as that was reported by the school.

His future with the team is unknown, as is his future with the school apparently.

I can't say I'm shocked by this, as a Michigan fan. However, it really did seem like Tate was starting to turn it around as the season went on. It now looks like he is gonzo from UM, unless it is only grades and he has truly bought into the "Those who stay will be champions" idea and is over his little temper tantrums.

Isn't Devlin graduating? Tate could stay in the winged helmet.

Maybe Forcier, Brantley, and Bolden can all transfer to Delaware and battle it out.
