Had not posted my thoughts in a while. I assure you it is a lot easier to post after a W. The urge just doesn't seem to strike after a disappointing loss.

Saturday's game was the final home game for GWU and our Seniors final game. They all got their picture taken before the team took the field. Good luck guys. We appreciate your hard work while you were at Gardner-Webb and look forward to hearing more about all of you in the future.

#59 Austin Sargent[Soph] was one of the 4 captains for Saturday's game. Austin's Dad, Roger, died unexpectedly from an aneurysm last week. Roger was also known on this Board as WildDog96. It was great to see Austin get back to GWU and get back out on the field. I know his Dad would be very proud of him. RIP Roger Sargent.

We anticipated that this was going to be tough defensive game and it was. Patrick Hall [Senior] was the leading rusher with 46 yds on 17 carries. Patrick played most of this year with a tender ankle, but he gutted it out. Best of luck in your future endeavors young man.

QB Chandler Browning [R-Freshman] had a decent day and was 17-31-2 for 159 yds and 1 TD. Chandler learned a lot this year and should be ready to go next year. He has the potential to really be a good QB.

Image

Jeffrey Williams [Sr.] led the D with 11 tackles for his final game as a Bulldog. Good luck to you Jeffrey. We will always pull for you.

Image

Chris James [Sr.] managed to pick off VMI's initial attempt at a TD pass to keep this game in check. What's so amazing about that you might ask. Well, Chris injured his knee last year in our game at Coastal Carolina. He hurt his knee so bad that he had to have a TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT! He managed to make it back out onto the field a couple of games ago and made one of the best plays of the day against VMI. Congratulations Chris!

Image

DE Preston Pemasa [Freshman] had another stellar game with 10 tackles [1.5 sacks and 3 TFLs]. PP led the BS in Sacks [2 asst and 6 solo] and TFLs [7 asst and 11 solo]. The Bulldog Nation is looking forward to your return next year!

Lots of love got passed around after their last game. Best of luck to all of the Seniors. We look forward to pulling for all of the rest of you guys in 2011.

Fine photos, especially the one where Perry "wanted it more" on his TD catch. If you took a photo of all of VMI's flubs that day, you'd run out of film..............

KD,

I thought your boys played much better this year than last year and that was without Tim Maypray. I think Sparky is going to get you guys turned around in the near future. Good luck.

Great pics as always, and yes, awesome to see Sargent back on the field, I can't fathom what the kid has been through.

Keep those cheerleader/BullDoll pics coming as well.

then you are the only one.

Had VMI converted those first two possessions into TD's (and our FG kicker does his job), their confidence increases 20-fold, and VMI wins. :coffee:

Should have been 17-3 at halftime, then 24-3 after the first drive of the 3rd quarter. Game over.
