5-6 season and wins over New Hampshire, Villanova and Massachusetts. Very good season for them.

I could have lived with them going 4-7...
But, yea, it is good to see the Rams improving...

they were likely 2 TDs and a FG away from being a playoff team. Hell they were 21 points from being Conference Champions...

Yeah, they've proven they can compete in the CAA. No need to downgrade their program to the NEC.

Thank you, everyone. I'm very proud of the Rams effort this season. Today was a gutty victory against a good UMass team.
Not to take anything away from the Maine, but this game winning TD catch with :09 seconds to play in our 10/23 game against the Black Bears was ruled out of bounds.
Also, in our 27-25 loss to Fordham on 9/11, the game ended after we couldn't couldn't punch the ball in with 4 downs and the ball inside the 10 yard line.
Again - no disrespect - and other fans may disagree with me, but I thought that we played Delaware straight up for 3 quarters and had a legitimate shot at upseting them on the road on 10/16. Same for last week's 15-6 loss to Richmond.
By no means should any of this be taken as sour grapes....I'm just reiterating UNHWildCats post that we were a handful of plays away from being a playoff team, which is actually quite incredible considering we were 1-10 last year.

I hope RI doesnt downgrade to the NEC, though they would be guaranteed a conference championship every year. Great season, Rams!
(closet RI fan- wifes home state. shes from smithfield, so I root for RI and bryant secretly)

Another example of why need instant replay. Off the top of my head:
-UD @ W&M. Grimes fumbles the ball. As I recall replays showed his knee was down when ball came out. Refs blew it.
-UMass @ JMU. UMass fumbles the ball in JMU territory. Replays showed JMU player initially had possession of the ball. Refs blew it by ruling "simultaneous possession". UMass kept ball, kicked FG.
-W&M @ JMU. Grimes fumbles the ball opening drives. Refs ruled he was down. Replay on JMU jumbotron indicated otherwise. (Game not televised). W&M goes on to score their 1st TD. Refs blew it.
-Nova @ UD. Maldonado intercepts in end zone. Refs ruled incomplete. Replay shows was in fact an INT. Refs blew it. Replays further showed Maldonado having helmet ripped off his head, knocking him out of the game. Should have been 15 yard personal found. Ref somehow missed it. UD scores TD 2 plays later.
-Nova @ UD again. Pierce fumbles at UD 14. Refs said his forward progress was stopped, no fumble. Replay indicated otherwise
-UR @ W&M. W&M caught TD pass in end zone. Refs said out of bounds. Replays showed at least one ft in bounds when receiver had control
And those are just the games I saw. No reason why on the televised games can't have instant replay.

I root for the Rams (Louis Feinstein, the Rams kicker is from our high school), but...
I DON'T THINK SO!
(You do realize that they won't be able to keep 63 full scholarships in the NEC, don't you?)
Anyway, congratulations to Louis and all of his Rhode Island teammates on their victory today and for a season well-played!

It's too bad Rhode Island isn't able to be competitive in the CAA. When you go 4-4 in the toughest conference in FCS with 3 wins over ranked teams, it's clearly time to give up forever.

And the Griz were 10 points from being 10-1. So what?

Thanks Travis. To go from 1-10 to 5-6 and defeat three nationally ranked teams including the defending national champs is quite a big step up in the right direction. It appears that Coach Trainer is building a competetive team. I hope this continues next season and into the future; no matter what conference we are in.

Yup, way to go URI...great season. Good luck next year and hope you stay in the CAA. Hopefully when we play you next year, we have a new Head Coach. Is Coach T. available? Just kidding about coach T...not kidding about a new head coach though...
