Appalachian State’s season now has a blemish, as result of Saturday’s 21-14 overtime loss at Georgia Southern, but its Southern Conference title prospects haven’t changed.
It still comes down to Saturday’s game against Wofford.
ASU (8-1 overall, 6-1 SoCon) will clinch at least a share of the SoCon title and lock up the league’s automatic berth to the FCS playoffs if it beats Wofford Saturday. Wofford (8-1, 6-0) will win the SoCon title if it beats ASU.
It’s that simple.
If ASU loses, things get more complicated for the Mountaineers. They close with a non-conference game at Florida, and a loss there, while playoff inclusion would still be a virtual certainty, three straight losses heading into the playoffs would make for an interesting situation in regard to playoff seeding and home-field status for the long haul.

Interesting times. If we win Saturday we'll most likely have the first weekend off and some kind of seed. (And my preseason call of 9-2 is looking like a sure bet.

)Lose on Saturday and I'll probably have to make plans for Kidd Brewer the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Any of you guys planning to be in attendance Saturday? There's a better than average chance we'll be there Sat-Sun.

Shari & I are going & you guys are welcome to ride up with us & save some gas. Just bought a new vehicle for tailgating, so we've got plenty of room.....& I'm not planning on shotgunning any beers in the parking lot, so the ride home should be safe as well.

I just found out we have a viewing party here a quarter mile from the house - we'll likely stay put and try to make a playoff game (plus we're going to Gainesville next weekend...).

Well, all I know is what do you do with Montana if App State loses it's final three games of the season. Jacksonville state loses again and then Villinova loses for a second week in a row. All of a sudden Montana looks a lot better with a win against a top 10 team (assuming we can beat the Cats at home) in the final game of the regular season.

I'm looking to make the trip to the game. I've got a ticket lined up so it's looking like a go. Should be a hell of a game with a big crowd, definitely will reach 30k.
