when was the last year a team in the big sky won an out right title that didn't have a maroon jersey? 1997?
MSU could very well win out but EWU only has ISU left and the Bobs have 2 losable games.

EWU 6-1
MSU 5-1

UM 5-2
Web 4-2
SAC 3-3
NAU 2-3
PSU 1-4
NCo 1-5
ISU 0-6

E Wash
11-13 Southern Utah *fixed
11-20 Idaho St

MSU
11-6, Weber St
11-20 @ Montana

UM
11-13 North Dakota
11-20 Montana State

Weber
11-6 @ Montana St
11-13 @ NAU

I may be wrong but doesn't EWU have SUU at home?

Yes, the last team to win an out-right (not shared) title that wasn't named Montana was EWU in 1997 when we advanced to the semi-finals and hosted three play-off games at Joe Albi in Spokane.

Anyway, I'm not going to put the cart before the horse. I like that we are playing at a high quality towards the end of the season, but we have two very difficult game ahead of us with SUU and ISU, albeit both of them are at home. Also, even if we manage to win out, Montana will have to beat MSU for us to take an outright title since they won the head to head. Does anyone really think that's going to happen at this point? We can't worry about any of that, though. Gotta take it one game at a time and the rest will take care of itself. :thumb:

Correct. We played in Cedar City last year.

1. EWU does not have this thing locked up yet. :tothehand:
2. SUU plays at EWU

That SUU game will determine wether you host in the playoffs. SUU has an awesome passing attack. Is EWU's secondary up to the challenge?

Neither does MSU. If the cats (both of them) played like they did yesterday, the bobs will lose next week. And good luck in Missoula... when was the last time MSU won there? :coffee:

We will give up a bunch of yards through the air, but our D is great at stiffening up in the redzone and getting stops or turnovers. PSU racked up 323 yards through the air (and they're a run-oriented team!), yet only managed 17 points. SUU, and the way they're playing right now ISU, will be good tune up games before the playoffs. Glad we have a bye this week to get healthy. Watch out.

We'll try to take care of MSU for you. You beat Weber without TJ and with him EWU is awesome!

I think Montana can and will beat MSU at Washington Stadium. Never count Montana out at home, especially in a must win situation. I think it will be a barnburner. I'd like to see ESPNU or someone with national coverage pick up a game like that in front of a large crowd. On BCS rivalry weekend, I think it would be good for FCS football.

We have the best statistically bad defense in the country.

True that.

I think EWU has a good shot at winning it outright. The Cats defense showed signs of life finally yesterday at ISU, but then again... it's ISU, so I can't take too much any from it.

I'm more concerned about Weber. If we beat Weber next week, we are in the playoffs, and then we won't have so much pressure going into Cat/Griz.

Bobcats still control their own destiny. Eagles, with Montana losing, need to beat ISU and then have MSU lose. The SUU game does not matter in terms of winning the conference.

Exactly, the BSC is not locked up yet, if your counting on MSU losing out then I dont think it will happen. winning both games will be difficult though.

I'm not counting on them losing out, and I don't think they will. But I do think MSU will drop one of them. The way the bobcats have been playing, both will be very tough games for you to win. EWU however, has a bye to get healthy, and we put together a complete performance against PSU. And our last two are at home. Chances are looking good for EWU. We'll see what happens, should be an exciting finish.

You'll have the pressure of beating the Griz and earning a seed.

Bobcats have not been playing their best ball the last couple games, but still came out with wins. The Eagles would have been in a better situation if the Grizzlies would have beat Weber, or if the Bobcats would have lost one of those games (by all accounts they should have, but the key phrase is they did not). Bobcats can still win as ugly as they want to, yet they still hold the tiebreaker for the AQ over the Eagles, as long as they just win. Winning in Missoula is a daunting task, yet until this year, when was the last time they beat EWU? If the Eagles would have kept that streak alive, all this talk would be moot.

I doubt a 9-2 team with a 34-7 loss to a non-playoff FCS team gets a seed

Not smack

Who gets the seed instead?

Maybe not but a 9-2 team with 2 wins over top 15 teams, and the AQ from one of the top 3 conferences in the country still has a pretty good chance at a seed. :thumb: :thumb:

And if the cats play like they have the past two weeks, they aren't getting out of Missoula with a "W". :coffee:
