Matt Szczur

I was wondering if anybody had any insight on Szczur's status.

I think he's missed 4 games. He has what appears to be a promising career in baseball ahead of him and a lot of that based on his speed. Is there any concern among the Villanova faithful (the few, the proud) that he might just choose to shut it down the rest of the year and protect the ankle for baseball?

I know he wants to play football, but at a certain point, the "bird in the hand" philosophy should kick in.

BTW, I waited until after our game to post this so it wouldn't sound like I was stirring the pot for the game.

Very valid question. I'd wager that Talley, out of respect for the kid's future and all he's done already, may be the one trying to protect Szczur's interests more so than the kid himself.
