UND @ Cal Poly*

Hey, the hockies are over and we have joined the game in progress with about 10 minutes left in the first half. The Mustangs are deep in UND territory leading by 7. Sounds like a good crowd. Cal Poly is of course running classic option football, something UND should be familiar with if they haven't forgotten.
This thing could get out of hand early but I hope the UND fans join in and make this game thread interesting.
Cal Poly going for FG but wide to the left. UND gets the ball....
Ill put updates on the scoring thread. Sorry I didnt see it.

Poly now 13 - 0, missed an extra point after a long run for a TD. This game is starting to get out of hand. UND lacks depth after several bad recruiting years and the injuries are mounting up. They have a lot of D2 type players but they arent a paper tiger. They can put up some resistance. Hey, they just returned the kick off into Cal Poly territory and they score a TD on a 42 yd bomb from Landry to Hardin. If they keep that up they can turn this game around.

13-7 at the half. Good first half for UND. Poly is struggling Muss on now. Realistic, only 1 good offensive play in the first half. Wants to see balance on both sides of the ball but the d has to step it up if the offense is slow. So far today The Muss is happy. They got to step it up.
UND ties the football game problem with the extra pt. 13-13 right now. Pass to Hardin. Hardin is a great talent recruited into the program.

UND is stopping the FB and QB options, but the pitch is killing them.. safety is slow getting to the corner. Plus, Poly WR block the corner well. I look for Poly to hammer the pitch in the second half. Poly gased the UND D by controlling the ball most of the first half. Look for Poly to take big chucks of yardage if the Sioux offense does not pick it up in the second half. Hey, that 3rd string RS-FR Offensive Tackle did not look too bad at defensive end.

If any school has the records to stop the option, UND should. Right now it looks like the coaches read the book and got the message to the boys on the line.

To pick up where JBB left off, the thin D2 recruits have the lead 21-16 early in the fourth quarter. Poly just returned a punt to the Sioux 30.

Watching this on CP's website (no sound or clock or scoreboard

). UND's offense does some strange pre-snap motion stuff.

And, as per usual, if you need anywhere from 1-8 yards just throw a quick slant and you've got your first down

2nd. & 2 - QB runs for a first
1st. & 10 @ 40 - Sacked
2nd. & 13 - Odd delay, then a 10 yard catch
3rd. & 3 - Scramble forever, then incomplete (I think) & the game ends.

And that is not how to run the two minute drill.....
Sioux lose 22-21 after getting down to the 30 on the last play....
