Crazy win for Weber St over Portland State.
Almost 1200 combined yards; poured rain from start to finish and only 1 combined turnover.
PSU 600 yds; 278 passing; 322 rushing
WSU 548 yds; 211 passing; 337 rushing
WSU's Higgins ties Big Sky record of 96 career TD passes. A bit shocking to see WSU QB with only 11-19 and 211 yds in a game with this many yards. This is the Big Sky afterall.
PSU's 9 penalties were as bad as having turnovers. A few of them killed the Viks.
WSU hasn't had a 100 yr rusher the entire season and had 2 backs with 100+.
Bolen 22 for 156 yds and 2 TDs with a long of 30.
Tafuna 18 for 153 yds and 2 TDs with a long of 60.
PSU's Kavanaugh was 14-20 with 278 yds n 2 TDs and 114 yds rushing n a TD.
McCaffrey 24 for 178 yds rushing and 2 TDs
With just over a minute to go in the game WSU was up 37-34. PSU scored a TD with 1:02 left to take the lead 41-37. WSU drove 70 yds off 6 plays in 36 seconds to win the game 44-41. PSU attempted a 65 yd FG and it was short.

It's like a smashmouth version of the 2007 game.
This type of thing isn't too surprising given that we saw two decent rushing attacks up against two lousy run defenses.

Agreed. Was a fun game to watch. Best Ive seen this year. The only reason it wasn't 73-68...no turnovers.

Just another example of what is becoming a typical Weber/PSU football game.

I thought the term "smashmouth" implies that there was some defense played.

Compared to the 2007 game, a 73 to 68 win for Weber, it was a defense game.

I called this game saying if WSU has 0-2 to's its a win. I think I can say that about any game on our schedule though. The 44 points were so easy to score when we weren't turning it over like crazy.

TO's=points lost, common sense.

Not counting the score this was a typically thrilling and satisfying PSU-WSU game. Fantastic!
Of course, the score was quite all right with me!
