SBU @ Coastal Carolina
The Seawolves are looking to get back on the winning track after dropping a close decision to Lafayette last week. The Chants dominated Presbyterian in their Big South opener. CCU tends to play well at home. I think the Seawolved will do just enough to get the win and keep on track for a showdown with LU...
SBU 28 CCU 24
VMI @ Charleston Southern
The Keydets first year with a pro-style offense isnt an unmitigated disaster...but its getting close. If not for the games against Lock Haven and fellow conference opponent Presbyterian, they would have zero games with double digit point totals...CSU is looking to get back on the winning track after back to back double digit losses...this game should be god for what ails...
CSU 38 VMI 10
Presbyterian @ Gardner-Webb
The Runnin Bulldogs (despite Gerald Stevenson running all over them) got a big win last week and with a big matchup in Lynchburg in three weeks, that could be for sole possession of first in the conference...but they cannot overlook their next two opponents, the first being the winless Blue Hose...if they can keep their focus they should get a solid win here...otherwise...we could see an upset.

VMI, do not kick or punt the ball to Stevenson. Do you remember Mr. Maypray? This guy will help you remember.

The BS fans have been awfully quiet this week and I have to wonder why.
The SBU @ CCU result will kick someone out of the 4 way tie for first place in the BS. Both of these teams [actually, all 4 teams that are undefeated in conference] have some questionable L's on their schedules. CCU gets the slight edge due to home field advantage. CCU 17 - SBU 14.
VMI travels to Charleston to take on CSU who is looking for redemption following last week's home loss to GW. The 35-25 was made close by the play of Gerald Stevenson who returned a kick and a punt to the end zone [after the ESPN 3 announcing crew announced to the whole world that GW had never given up a kick return in BS play]. I don't expect VMI's D to be as stout as GW's and I suspect CSU will win big if they can get their penalties under control. CSU 35 - VMI 10.
GW has a home game for the first time since September 18 when PC makes its way to Boiling Springs on Saturday. The Runnin' Bulldog faithful are looking forward to this game and a great crowd is expected to be on hand. GW's D should handily take care of the PC offense. GW 42 - PC 14.
Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

After the debacle at Lafayette last week SBU did some house cleaning. Several starters will not make the trip and that means some up and coming freshmen get to play. Looks like our Defensive End #9 is off the team for good. I think he was a major attitude problem and got himself in hot water with the coach one to many times. Ed Gowins is still nursing that groin injury and will this game out on Long Island. I expect a real close game Saturday night , should be a good one.

Go BUCS!!!
This is a HUGE game for CSU. We are in must-win mode the rest of the way. We have one out of conference game left, against Kentucky. That has to be our only loss. We need to finish. We need to put people away. We have three losses this year that should not be losses (Wofford, Liberty, and Gardner-Webb). If we execute late and finish, we win all three.

CCU 27 SBU 17 (the loser starts a big slide downhill)
CSU 34 VMI 10 (why the VMI koolaid?...CSU corrects their mistakes and rolls)
G-W 28 PC 16 (another homecoming win, Patton's HC record is stout at G-W)

Juice, I'm not sure how you figure that the GW game should not have been a loss for you. GW's D shut your O down last week. If you didn't have Stevenson, it would have been a blowout.
Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

If SB loses this game, it can be bad news for the program and the season. tough loses to Brown Lafyette, and a very winnable UMASS game make me wonder if we are capable of winning the close games down the road and now losing our best defensive player could spell trouble out on the island.

Chuck South that Liberty game by 24 points. I'm not sure how you argue that's a game CSU should have won. Yes, CSU would have taken the lead if Trudnowski doesn't fumble down on the 2. But it was still the third quarter, and Liberty would have had plenty of time to counter. With Toscano in the game, CSU was down 13-0 early. The game was closer than the score indicated, but it's not one CSU "should have won."

Agreed! CSU straight up fell apart in the 4th, the entire 4th, not just certain plays in the 4th. CSU got tired out and that's when Liberty ran over them.

Exactly. CSU fell apart in the 4th. Had we not fallen apart in the 4th of the Liberty game and the Wofford game, we would have been in position to win. As long as you're in position to win, you have as much a chance to win as the other team. That is all you can ask. Heck, we were in position to beat Wofford late in the 4th, and Wofford is better than any team in the Big South.
Penalties and late-game execution are our biggest problems right now. Frankly, it is hard to believe because this is a veteran team with supposedly strong leadership. It is a mental toughness issue. I don't believe our team got physically tired. It was more mentally tired which leads to sloppy play (penalties) and poor late-game execution.

We agree Stevenson is a special talent, but VMI won't go for it on 4th and 5, either.

Fair enough. Liberty does tend to work people in the fourth quarter, especially at home. If there was a time CSU should have beaten LIberty, it was last season. Great defensive performance by the Bucs and a genius turn by Mills to unleash the Wildcat against an unsuspecting team. I'm still trying to figure out how Liberty won that game with only 163 yards of offense.

VMI winning late, looks like their defense is setting them up with short scoring drives, since their QB play has been atrocious.
Presby up at the half. They have shut down the G-W offense after allowing a game opening TD drive.
