• As of Tuesday afternoon, approximately 400 tickets remained.
• Delaware extended its winning streak to six games and stayed atop the CAA standings thanks to a 26-7 win over Maine Saturday at Delaware Stadium. The Hens have now won five straight at home since last season.
• Rhode Island, which earlier this season downed New Hampshire to snap a streak of eight straight conference setbacks, has already doubled last year’s win total when the Rams struggled to a 1-10 mark. This week Rhode Island will be facing its third Top 10 opponent of the season and second straight after falling to No. 4 William & Mary 26- 7 Saturday in Williamsburg, Va.
• Delaware has had its share of success against Rhode Island, winning three straight over the Rams and holding an all-time mark of 11-3 vs. Rhode Island at Delaware Stadium.

URI beat UNH. This gets my attention. UNH always gives us fits. We were the ones who made Ricky Santos a star.

URI has improved, but I will stand by my gut feel the last few weeks. Last weeks Maine game was a let down game after two tough opponents on the road and this week the Hens offense starts clicking on all cylinders. Much like last years UMass game when the offense did most everything right. My expectations were limited last week but are really high for all facets of the game this week. Sorry I can't be there but my seats are much better right now. Image

I think the UNH offense might disagree.

My post above was a joke and jab at the foolish thread started by a UD fan that ASU was 'defenseless'. I think it's still near the top of the board here somewhere.

I think I'm taking this game alot more serious than others, to be honest. Rob Nevaiser knows how to motivate a defense. With the weather forecast for a very windy day tomorrow, it could slow down our passing game and allow you guys to focus more on the UD running game.

Good luck tomorrow, but not too much.

Thanks. Our defense is much improved to be sure. I like what our offense has done so far even though we pretty much stalled last week against W&M. You guys are always tough but this year you're a powerhouse. We could surprise you though if your team makes the mistake of looking past us.

I just hope the URI team that showed up for UNH and Brown shows up for this game.

C'mon, SLL...no worries here. I don't think we'll win by 20.5 points, but we're going to win this game. URI's a different team on the road (FORDHAM!?!?!?)

Brown + Overtime + At home = Gimme a break!

Cobble...why do you suppose ProJo's so bad at even giving URI football a passing glimpse? I'm surprised at the lack of coverage on any college football up here (even if both Brown and URI have been traditionally "poor" teams).

Because Rhode Island is not a football state. Brown has been pretty decent the past few seasons and Bryant just made a jump from D-II to FCS; neither of those programs has gotten much publicity from the PROJO. In this state it's basketball, both URI and Providence College grab the headlines in the sports section. When they play each other the entire state pretty much comes to a standstill.

I really hope you're right. Supposedly UD has been living with the 'Let's go 1-0' mantra all year, and they better mean it. I'd hate to think this veteran led team, who's seen some absolutely unacceptable UD records, has been reading their press clippings and is feeling fat and happy. There's no time for that.

IMO, we've reached the time of year where it's neccesary to start sending messages. Messages to those left on our schedule that we don't take weeks off, messages to our fans that they need to get in the stadium and see a spectacle, messages to OOC teams that we're going to mean business come the playoffs, and messages to the selection committee that we deserve to be playing at home until January 7th. :twocents:

Give the 20.5 and watch the ass-whoopin tomorrow. No smack, just reality, it's a Blue Hen year & we go 1-0 again tomorrow.

This one was declared a sellout yesterday. It looks like people are finally putting aside their financial concerns and embracing a winner.

Great that we finally have a sellout. Weren't the remaining seats @ $9?

A few quick points from the gold lot:

The wind is howling out of the northwest today and will be a major factor. It took my canopy for a ride with 80 lbs of ballast. We ended up tying three sides to trees with nylon cord and it worked out.

Rhode Island fans sighted so far: 1

I just shook hands with a bearded marxist. No witch sightings so far.

Rams go backward on every one of their first three plays and then the Hens punch it in with ease on an AP TD. 7-0 Hens four minutes in.

Rams have put together back to back long drives. FG was blocked on the first one but they punch it in on the second one.

17-7 Hens 9 mins left first half.

Hens three and out. Rams have seized the momentum here and lead every meaningful stat on the scoreboard but the score itself. Hens D is not tackling these very small but shifty RI backs.

And just like that it's 24-7 Hens after a long drive highlighted by several pretty runs by AP.

Oops. URI just returned the kickoff all the way.

24-14

RI FG makes the score 24-17 Delaware late in the third. UD offense has been stymied by URI defense, and UD penalties and miscues have kept URI around.
